Shepard Smith, Chris Wallace, and their polls which are a collaborative effort between a Democratic and Republican pollster.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2016/11/07/poll_position_where_clinton_trump_stand_on_election_eve_132270.html

For example, Obama led in the RealClearPolitics average by 0.9 points heading into Election Day 2012 and went on to win the White House by 3.9 points. The RCP national average also put Obama ahead by 7.3 points in 2008, and he won by 7.6 points. George W. Bush led by 1.5 points in the 2004 RCP national average of polls, and he won by 2.4 points.

On 07-November-2016 (election eve):
Hillary - 45.0%
Ass Ferret - 42.7%

Reality says that the MF'er usurper at 1600 PA. Ave. is going to get right around 43-44% of the vote no matter what happens - hell, he could start 3 wars, run the economy into a depression and get caught being peed on by Russian whores on camera (oh...wait, a sec...) and STILL get that 43-44% of the population.

We need turn-out. Excitement comes from people realizing they NEED to get out the vote for their candidate and that can wear very thin 18 months from now...

a couple points at election day and Bush "won" it by a couple points. I want to say it was a 6 point swing. the kicker was that most people had already made up their minds weeks before. So where did 6% come from.

Check with me again in about 6 months and by then I might agree with you.

Alternatively, I might still believe he is not the "best" in terms of what I want in a candidate or a President, but admit that I'm being over-ruled by the people.

Imho by November of 2020 a warm potato will be able to beat Trump. If by this time a medium sized city mayor is with in the margin of error we have a lot to look forward to.

We don't have to pick the media favorite or the person that we're told is most electable. We can pick the best person for the job.

to be so confident.

We'll need the strongest candidate we can get. And if by next year the polls are showing one candidate beating Trump by double digits, and another beating him by a couple of points, it would be a huge mistake to go with the one who's within a couple of points of losing to Trump.

Which, btw, I think is within the margin of error for this poll.

And that is Senator Elizabeth Warren.

And yes I think 2020 will be like 2008. The republicans have over reached as they always do and there will be a backlash.
