Buttigieg on Mueller: This is as close to an impeachment referral as it gets

Democratic President candidate Pete Buttigieg joined other 2020 candidates in calling for impeachment proceedings after special counsel Robert Mueller's Wednesday statements on his report.

Several other candidates also called for impeachment after the speech in which Mueller said that his team was not confident that the president did not commit a crime.

“After that investigation, if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that,” the special counsel said.

He added that the Constitution requires a "process other than the criminal justice system" to act against a sitting president.

This is a major gift that he has: the ability to explain the situation in a way that nearly anyone can understand.

He is so good.

...impeachment inquiry. Which then may lead to provable grounds for impeachment proper.

Nadler and company are already doing an impeachment inquiry, though it is simply being called an "investigation".

Everything is in place, so long as the Democrats remain dogged. And figure out a clear way to explain what's happening to the American people, step by step.

"He added that the Constitution requires a "process other than the criminal justice system" to act against a sitting president."

The criminal justice system should be a ten ton weight constantly hanging over the president. If no one is above the law then no one, including the president, should be afforded special accommodations and considerations should they be found to have broken the law. Indict. Prosecute. Convict. Imprison.
