The Democratic Primaries Are Treading Water as a Topic Right Now

For a while, new names were coming into the long, long list of Democratic presidential primary hopefuls. The keyword is "new."

Well, the field seems to have settled down to what is probably its final form at this point. What does that mean? Well, it means that public interest is not as great just now.

We're still months away from the Iowa caucuses, and there's this madman with unruly hair doing stupid things on a daily basis out there. So, the media has shifted its focus away from the Democratic Primaries to put their microscope on Trump.

Fewer polls are being done about the primary race for the time being, and everyone's watching their TV boxes to see what Donwald will do next to screw things up.

So, a note to the primary candidates: Give yourselves a little rest. Nobody's watching you right now. Have some good meals with your families and fatten yourself up for the lean times ahead. There's other stuff going on that's more interesting to folks at the moment.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I think the "primary season" lasts too long and we have too many candidates, but I listen when they say something new and we will soon see if the debates and early primaries thin the field.

and the microscope belongs on trump. some of his policies have had time to take effect. how are they working?

The first debate is less than a month away but everyone is happy that it is summer now and want to go out to the beach. They aren't necessarily locked into the day-to-day back and forth. We have great candidates and supporters and those on the sidelines should all take solice in knowing 45 is deeply unpopular even with a pretty good economy right now.

I think people will start paying attention if impeachment inquiries begin. And there's no garauntee of that tho it seems that it will be inevitable given the administration's posture towards subpoenas and presenting documents. I guess we'll all have to wait and see how this all unfolds.
