Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMy 2020 Fantasy
After a positive, uplifting and inspiring primary, none of the 172 Democrats in the race get enough delegates to secure the nomination. So they get together at the convention to figure out what to do.
And together, they decide on a candidate. Word leaks out that they settled on a favorite, but no one knows who it is.
Everyone waits with anticipation to find out who the favorite is.
On Wednesday night, all 172 candidates come onstage to announce their pick ...
It's HILLARY!!!
The crowd goes wild. Hillary is nominated by acclamation. The next night, she gives a barn burner of a speech and the balloon drop is even more awesome than last time.
And she wipes the floor with Trump in the debates and makes mincemeat of him on Election Day, winning the popular vote by 20 million votes and the Electoral College 535-3 (Montana ... SMH)
President Hillary Clinton gets the biggest Inauguration crowd ever and puts baby lambchops back on the White House reception menu.
And all of the people danced.
The End.

(25,426 posts)Sorry, couldn't resist.
Never hurts to dream.
I think back to all of the "both sides" nonsense that happened during the 2016 run and get annoyed all over again. The mind boggles at how different the past two years would have been with her as president.

(15,331 posts)There are many states further to the right than Montana. Trump isn't losing West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Idaho, and a few others. 400 EV's should be the dream.
Also, Hillary wiped the floor with Trump in the debates in 2016, IMO at least. With that being said, she's my choice in 2020, I just wish she would run.

(144,890 posts)Even pledged delegates under DNC rules can change their vote. Candidates have absolute approval rights over delegates and real campaigns carefully vet their delegates. Your may still work but it will take some work with the campaigns keeping their delegates informed
