Be part of the Democratic platform. That and outlawing employer based health insurance. However you feel about those two issues both of those are losers for us in the General.

Republicans/Independents also have pre-existing conditions, like their birth control, and have offspring under 26 years old that otherwise would have no insurance.

Reparations, like Medicare for all (I prefer making it a buy in option), needs to be explained and defined by Democrats before Republicans litter the airways and media with disinformation.

Democrats don’t decide their platform based on what MAGATs want. I doubt reparations will be on it. Medicare 4 All could be if Warren is the nominee. She’ll need to explain it and she’s good at that.

end up saying she’d outlaw it. I’m sure it would remain an option if people wanted it, but the point would be to make Medicare attractive enough that people will choose it over private insurance.

In any case, I think Biden’s likely to win so this discussion is purely academic.

Public Option and leave private health insurance alone to let it wilt on the vine. She is a lot less doctrinaire and more practical than Senator Sanders. She will have a winning message on healthcare, IMO.

It DOES include being 100% HONEST about the racism that is interwoven into every aspect of society, though. That very difficult conversation MUST be had. Once it is then we can get to actual change and true equality. Now I would support any individual convicted of a hate crime having all of their assets seized just like drug dealers and then have that money go into a trust fund that is used to help the victim as well as the group their hate targeted. Reparations could look something like that. The main point is to REPAIR the problem.

Anti-social conduct. Racism is anti-social conduct and when a person has been found to have discriminated, that person should suffer a penalty such as loss of a job or office. If we get enough cases where discriminatory people suffer, we will see racism and sexism vanish from our society.

I personally think that reparations, if it involves money is a bad idea. Fixing the criminal justice system and expunging felony convictions for minor offenses, along with meaningful job skills training is a much better path. We should also have a zero tolerance policy toward police misconduct, we should push for people that have excellent deescalation skills and sound judgement becoming police officers, we should have routine evaluation standards to insure those people maintain those skills. We should work toward a diverse teaching force, provide racial sensitivity training and routinely reevaluate every teacher, and we should pay them a lot more money, their jobs are very critical to society.
