the will of the public on economic issues. Politicians on the right are well aware of public sentiment on distributing wealth and domestic spending. Practically every move they make is to destabilize any movement toward such desires. Makes everybody's world (even the wealthy) shittier, but the gravy train rolls on.

No, people, even you Mr. and Mrs. Moneysac, you cannot have a decent news service with informed unbiased reporting because that would disrupt the worldview we have so carefully constructed, and no, you cannot have a decent intellectual conversation with your fellow citizens because that would require investment outside the privileged avenues of society, and no, you cannot have decent public transportation because that would disrupt the flow of income to the protective corporations who serve to keep things as they are. No, your kids and grandkids cannot expect to enjoy the plants and animals and habitats of the planet because that would require admitting that the current mode of handling its resources, including humans is unjust and harmful to all. A system built on propaganda has no corrective course.
