I had a personal email from him recently; will see if he wants to touch base with some political friends when he's in town.

You're getting better at dropping them.

Hats-off for that peculiar skill.

Steve Bullock <xxxxxxxxx>

to me

Chris – Steve Bullock here.

First, thank you so much for opening this e-mail. I’m sure your inbox is flooded with messages from the 25+ folks that are running for president.

When we met, you said a governor from the west would make a great candidate for president. I know you have a lot of options right now but I wanted to reach out to you personally before June 30th and if you will contribute to my campaign before the June 30th deadline.

I am the only candidate in the race who has won in a red state. In 2016, Donald Trump carried Montana by 20 points and I was re-elected by 4. As Governor, I took on the Koch brothers in ruby red Montana - and won. I have been fighting against the corrupting influence of dark money for years. I've worked with a Republican-controlled legislature to pass medicaid expansion twice and saved the healthcare of 100,000 Montanans. You don’t just have to take my word for it, you can watch Rachel Maddow talk about my record.

We're still more than two hundred days away from the first ballot being cast and this race is just getting started. I believe that I bring something unique to this race and if you think that someone with my record should be heard, I'd be grateful if you could pitch in by June 30th. Contributions can be made online at www.stevebullock.com/give.

If you’re interested in getting more involved with the campaign, feel free to let me know and I hope we can find a time to connect when I'm back in New York next month.
