Thoughts? I think she is amazing, but for 2020? Why not?

(14,565 posts)Abrams ran in a very favorable scenario of a statewide race in a heavily blue year. Beto took on a more difficult state and in a federal race, not a statewide office. Consequently even though the margins look similar it was not even close toward which result was more impressive. Beto bettered his expectation by 9.6% according to 538 while Abrams bettered expectation by 3%

(393 posts)Besides I think some of these candidates should be thinking of the senate. I do hope Abrams considers taking on Perdue and make a race out of that. She came awfully close in her run for governor. She certainly made a name for herself.

(7,408 posts)Both need a strong South Carolina showing to prove they can do well in a state where 50% of the Democratic primary voters are Black. Abrams could win a large portion of the Black vote in her neighboring state, in a way helping Biden and Bernie by keeping Harris and Booker down in the single digits.

(34,169 posts)I think she still has a lot to learn about campaigning. She could get that experience by running for US Senator and taking out David Perdue.
