There's something wrong with everyone who's not Bernie.
I have a vague feeling, not vague really, that we have all be experiencing this sort of thing, on a tragic scale.
I'm not into dogma and slogans, repeating tired old 1960's rhetoric (that was silly even then) in 2019.
I'm an old man and I've lived too long to be a reactionary.
I like people who think. In the primaries I'm ABB, anyone but Bernie. In the bizarre and awful case, and we've seen some bizarre elections in recent years with Putin's "help," that Bernie became the nominee, I'd vote for him, but weep for my country in doing so, a lesser case of a worse thing.

(11,088 posts)One attack had him capitulating in the polls for a short period, which means any other candiddate getting more recognition will crater that lead in minutes. The center is divided more than it has ever been, with two progressive candidates staying strong.

(11,088 posts)Some of the hardest things to accept are the things happening right in front of you. Let's talk again early next year and see how it goes. I'm willing to accept I could be completely wrong. But a year away from the last primary is probably not the time to call it.

(24,122 posts)but, it's not lookin good if you consider the number of candidates splitting the progressive vote. As that consolidates, it's pretty much over for Biden.

(11,088 posts)And how many of those candidates are progressive, likely to take votes from Bernie? It is far more likely they will take votes away from other centrists like :cough: (Biden):cough:.

(108,975 posts)another candidate, and so will their dollars.
Elizabeth Warren, for example, is just as strong a progressive as Bernie, without the burden of his record on guns or environmental issues (wanting to send Vermont's waste to Texas.) She is someone who is drawing support from many Hillary voters.

(11,088 posts)He won Michigan, and was behind by 30%. Do you remember that? selective memory is an incredible thing! HE also outperformed his polling averages in New Hampshire by 10%. My goodness... At that rate, he is indeed still set to win New Hampshire
You were laughing just as hard when Sanders was behind by 30% in the Michigan primary, I'll bet. Not so much after? You might want to save yourself some heartache and not put so much credence on early polling.

What we heard years ago was "nobody knows him". Now everybody knows him and it's being reflected in the polls.

(2,531 posts)it will come down to a Dem vs. the devil we know. I believe that with any candidate other than Biden, trump would win as the devil we know. Why? Biden is a known quantity.
I sincerely apologize if this offends the the supporters of the other candidates, however:
