Biden: Most qualified for "the moment we are in," a perilous moment for America and the globe...

Many experts have said that we are closer to a nuclear conflict than we ever have been before.
We sit on a powder keg. Russia, North Korea, Iran, China and their relations to other countries, not
only the U.S., present a threat that must be addressed with experience and knowledge.

If we are to get Iran to the table to negotiate or re-negotiate our agreement with them, it will take
expert leadership and a leader Iran can trust. By the time Obama led the Iran agreement negotiations, he had attained a good measure of respect from the international community. He had
stature on the world stage.

I suggest that contrary to the talking point that Biden is out of step, can not lead our party forward, is ill-suited to today’s landscape socially, politically, that he is just the man for our time,
the only candidate who can hit the ground running on foreign policy. repair our alliances, address factors that contribute to migrants’ fleeing Central America, understand the complicated geo-political forces underlying hotspots across the world.

We are tending to neglect foreign policy and relations this election cycle, but Biden is committed to
and fully prepared to work in this vital area, as much an existential matter as is climate change.

The urgency is well shown in this Common Dreams article:

Yes, the foreign policy/relations experience that Joe Biden brings is unique to him alone. He's the only candidate with hands-on experience in FP and has working relationships with many of the world's leaders and diplomats.

As I've said before, this is no small thing. You can talk about foreign policy, you can bring in experienced people but there's nothing as valuable as actually having experience yourself, knowing expectations and limits, how the diplomatic world works (or doesn't), what true statecraft can achieve and how to repair what has been badly damaged. Trump has deliberately hollowed out the State Department and our diplomatic core and put the US and our allies in a perilous position. We need a 180 in that regard as quickly and efficiently as possible. Because as the common dreams headline suggests, we're bending closer to nuclear war with all the bellicose chest-thumping that Trump loves to engage in. Just the other day, he suggested a nuclear solution to Afghanistan, how quickly and effectively he could do it. On the other hand, he wouldn't like to murder 30+ million people. Because joking about millions of deaths in a nuclear drop is just so-o-o funny.

Yeah, we desperately need someone with foreign policy chops. Joe Biden is the man and this is his moment.
