Moulton mocks RNC for sending improperly folded American flag

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/454836-moulton-mocks-rnc-for-sending-improperly-folded-american-flag

2020 presidential candidate Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) on Thursday knocked the Republican National Committee (RNC) for sending him an American flag folded improperly.

Moulton, an Iraq War veteran, tweeted a photo Thursday showing a letter addressed to him and sent by Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, alongside a folded American flag.

“In recent weeks it has become increasingly clear that the proper respect and handling for the United States flag is an issue for the Democratic Party,” McDaniel’s letter reads. “The American flag is a powerful symbol of freedom and independence that many have died to protect. It deserves to be treated as such.”

“Hey, @GOP thank you for mailing me the flag and a copy of the flag code,” Moulton tweeted. “Next time, show some respect and fold it properly.”

He should have included pictures of Sarah Palin wearing flag themed clothing, MAGA cultists sitting on flag themed blankets and Moron dry humping a flag.

2. "flag themed" is not prohibited. Its the wearing of an actual flag as clothing that is.

A blanket is not a flag, a shirt is not a flag, etc.
Now trump, yeah, that was awful. And SO pandering.

Further, patriotism is like sex, bank account and religion; if you got it, you don't have to flaunt it.

And one that's not.

(Again, IMHO, a butt is more attractive without the flag of any nation flossing it, even if it's not really a flag.)

5. None of it is prohibited. Flag Code is only a suggestion.

Having a flag printed on clothing violates flag code and is otherwise disrespectful.

14. But it doesnt violate the Flag Code. Only if the clothing is made FROM an actual flag.

Wearing a shirt or hat with a printed flag is not disrespectful at all, although it's nice to see someone deferring on the "respect" side of things for a change.

6. Back in the 60s we wore flag patches on the butt of our jeans

It was meant to be insulting. It was meant to be disrespectful.

It was a way of saying, we disrespect America for sending us to die in a war we didn't have a vote in.

Then it became a fashion statement. But to this day, many of us who know this history of wearing flag clothing, still feel it is meant as an insult.

They wanted to denigrated Dems by implying they didn't respect the flag so they sent flags with a stupid letter. But that is as far as they got in their thinking.

They didn't think maybe we should read the regs on how to ship and fold the flag. Or maybe even just talk to someone who does it and get the low down. Nope, not the GOP. Just shove it into a box folded like a blanket. They think they know everything but practically know nothing. It's too hard for them to use their brains. That in my book is a fool.

I can see the shop manager come in at the start of the day "ok, listen up on how you earn your $5 today. First we are going to make a batch of American flags, then we will run off Trump flags, and late tonight in your 18 hour shift, we will run off some Russia/Trump, err, I mean Russian flags".

11. The RNC chairwoman thinks trolling a Democratic congressman who is also an Iraq war vet

about respecting the American flag is an appropriate use of her time??!! "Deplorable" doesn't begin to describe these people. Of course, she doesn't address him as ""Congressman," either... and refers to the "Democrat Party"... but this is the best they could come up with to "own the Libs"?? Apparently, she trolled all the Democratic primary candidates and other top Democratic officials (73 total) with this stunt because they didn't sufficiently melt down over protestors raising an American flag at an ICE facility or over Nike backing down on using the Betsy Ross flag favored by white supremacists (when they aren't flying Confederate or Nazi flags). Obviously must play well on Fox with all the other manufactured outrages...
