MSNBCs Alex Witt asked Williamson about it today and she said, My message is not to the president except that were gonna get you for this stuff.
My message is to the American people. Be very careful and know what this is, she continued. This is beyond racism. This is beyond just weaponizing Tweets. This is the work of a serious sociopathic demagogue. What this man does is he makes warning shots. You in any way mess with me, he says, Im coming after you. Thats why so many Republicans will not take him on. Thats why so many Republicans chose not to even run again.
She knocked acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney for his earlier comments on the presidents tweets, adding, The lying here, the demagoguery here is extremely dangerous.
Video at the link.
Not anywhere near my favorite candidate, but she's absolutely right about this.
And btw, Trump just called Elijah Cummings racist:

(15,233 posts)I used to travel in those circles at least 6 I know personally have made the same comment. Ethics demands they do not discuss this in public and even if they did have personal contact (virtually impossible) would not discuss what they know. One thing Trump will never do is allow an examiner or therapist anywhere near him. Most people who have rudimentary understanding of DSM or have had contact with these issues know what Trump represents and that he is toxic.

The Dark Triad...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_triad
The dark triad in psychology refers to the personality traits of narcissism, machiavellianism, and psychopathy,[1][2][3][4] which are called "dark" because of their malevolent qualities.[5][1][6][7]
Research on the dark triad is used in applied psychology, especially within the fields of law enforcement, clinical psychology, and business management. People scoring high on these traits are more likely to commit crimes, cause social distress and create severe problems for an organization, especially if they are in leadership positions (for more information, see psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism in the workplace).
All three dark triad traits are conceptually distinct although empirical evidence shows them to be overlapping. They are associated with a callous-manipulative interpersonal style.[8]
Narcissism is characterized by grandiosity, pride, egotism, and a lack of empathy.[9]
Machiavellianism is characterized by manipulation and exploitation of others, an absence of morality, and a higher level of self interest.[10]
Psychopathy is characterized by continuous antisocial behavior, impulsivity, selfishness, callous and unemotional traits (CU),[11] and remorselessness.[12]
A factor analysis carried out at the Glasgow Caledonian University found that among the big five personality traits, low agreeableness is the strongest correlate of the dark triad, while neuroticism and a lack of conscientiousness were associated with some of the dark triad members.[10]

(14,558 posts)At some point in everyone's life there comes a time when they must decide if they are going to follow the light or descend into darkness.
Light is the way of love, humility, compassion, wisdom and understanding.
Darkness is predicated on the two big illusions - wealth and power. Those who descend into the dark have chosen to pursue the amassing of wealth and power with their whole spirit, and in the end there is room for nothing else. This is why Trump seems utterly incapable of any compassion.
At his age Trump probably won't be able to reform himself, because it is unlikely he is capable of true remorse.
I feel bad for him, his family, but I feel even worse for the millions he has victimized with his racism, misogyny, greed and lust for power. Our nation really got sold a bill of goods by Mr. Vladimir Putin et al. It will take decades for us to clean it up, and to restore the faith of decent people in the institutions that make up the bedrock of this republic.

(6,150 posts)or give him love in any way shape or form. The man is not a victim, he is a fully functioning dark one.
He knows what he does, and his base is very much aware of his racist, misogynist, narcissist, greedy hate driven ways. They don't care one bit about all that. He validates their hatred, and that's what they want.
Trump is the Father of Lies, and his base revels in it.
And, yes, it will take decades to clean up his/their mess.
The nation, and those he has hurt, may never fully recover.

(15,233 posts)There is no reasoning with them you do not modify their behavior, by definition they do not want to change. In family situations it is best to get as far away from them as possible, change your name find protective housing. This man is unique in our political history, just surviving him will be a major accomplishment.

(21,712 posts)America is being headfucked. Psychological advertising techniques are being used on people with an unprecedented amount of personal data on them to work with.
Politics is no longer about policies or service or morality. It is about exploiting personalities.

(23,295 posts)I was angry that so many DUers ridiculed her after the debate. She wont be our nominee but what she brings to the conversation is important. I am proud to be a member of a party where someone running on a platform of love and justice makes the debate stage.

(23,295 posts)And Im really glad about that. He didnt make the last debate because he didnt meet the donor/fundraising criteria...and Williamson did. Is she promoting herself? Maybe...but every single candidate up there is also promoting themselves. They're all interviewing for a job of some kind. Im not a fan of everything she says and I dont think shes qualified to be president but she didnt keep Gov Bollock off the stage.

(14,971 posts)Or when you say things like overweight women aren't spiritually intelligent? Williamson has said both these things. Williamson may not be a dangerous sociopath ( although she has counselled people to go off all their medications and use positive thinking to get rid of disease. That might have caused some deaths) but she is a charlation and snake oil saleswomen.
