Vox article with a transcipt of everything Williamson said during the debate

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/7/30/20747997/marianne-williamson-democratic-debate-2020-memes-cnn

Is it me or is Marianne Williamson making a lot of sens?

Williamson’s debate highlights are all of them yet again.

Marianne Williamson was back during the second round of Democratic debates on Tuesday night — and for a pretty nontraditional candidate, she made a lot of sense. (Though she also warned of a “dark psychic force” in America and advocated healing through “deep truth-telling.”)

-snip-

Maybe we’re all just more used to her, but on Tuesday, Williamson seemed like she came to make a point, and she made more of an impression than many of the other candidates on the stage.

Of course, Marianne also did some Marianne-ing. She warned of the “dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred” President Donald Trump is bringing to the country and talked about “emotional turbulence” in America. She said she wants a politics that “speaks to the heart.” She walked onto the debate stage blowing a kiss.

Was this Marianne Williamson’s 2020 debate finale? Probably — she, like a lot of candidates, has an uphill battle to get into the next round in September. So below are transcripts of her notable answers from the second Democratic debate. Girlfriend, it’s been fun.

-snip-

The transcript of what she said, including her opening and closing remarks, follows that.

Anyway, I wanted to provide the link to this transcript so people who didn't see the debate have a bit better idea of why she made such an impression.

2. She was very good, but as with the 1st debate, she killed her winning hand at the very end

During the first debate she killed all the good she had done with the hippy stuff that she was going to defeat the creature with love, my wife had to close my mouth, I was in shock after I heard that.

Last night she did the same, her closing remarks were going so well and then she got into the psychological thing "which only she can do"...and again destroyed all the good work she did all night.

Did she make sense during the debate? Yes, lots of it, she was clear, spoke fast, concise, eloquent, and her direct attack to the three almost-republican candidates was great... She said: "I almost wonder why you’re Democrats, you seem to think there’s something wrong about using the instruments of government to help people."...That was brilliant.

She is what she is.

A remarkable woman but IMO as much an insult to the huge decision we have to make as if she managed to insert herself as a serious contender for director of the department of surgery at Johns Hopkins. Presidential primaries aren't talk show entertainment and that someone can insert herself from one to the other is a symptom of a disordered process.

5. If she would say "psychological" instead of "psychic" the woo wouldn't sound so strong. Fact is...

The fact is, however, is that she is right about the "dark ...force of collectivized hatred" loosed on the land by Trump.

Her observations about a lot of things we are going through are right. She's just not a politician, and this isn't government-talk.

Millions of people buy her books and listen to her lectures. If she chooses to endorse one of the Democratic candidates, hers will be a powerful endorsement.

In her post-debate interview on CNN, she was asked something like who she liked, if she ended up not being the nominee... and she referred to herself as a Bernie-Elizabeth gal, or something like that.
