Nobody won the debate tonight.

And I think the favorable ratings of Harris, Biden, and Gillibrand will fall. Stand outs for me were Yang, Inslee, and Gabbard. Booker also did well.

I have to agree ... by comparison Elizabeth Warren is looking and sounding more and more like a strong nominee.

...may have beat low expectations... i.e. probably the entire rest of the lower tier came off better than they did last time (Yang, Inslee, Gillibrand, Castro, Bennett)... I don't think any of them has much of a chance of seeing a noticeable bump. They get credit for making about as much as they could out of their last hurrah, though.

I'll be curious to see if Booker and/or Gabbard can make enough of a dent in polling that they can make it into the next debate, considering that the debate probably went about as well for them as it possibly could have, in terms of generating some extra buzz.

This period of time leading up to Iowa is about winnowing the field and little else. We'll be down to 5 or 6 serious contenders and then 2-4. After Super Tuesday, it's over.

Joe Biden proved to me tonight that he doesn't have a clue about what's wrong with healthcare in this country.

SO BLOODY WHAT if we have to raise taxes to pay for Medicare for All when WE WOULD REAP FAR MORE IN SAVINGS by cutting out private insurance company profits.

SO BLOODY WHAT if Medicare for All is going to mean a thirty trillion dollar Federal expenditure when WE WOULD REAP FAR MORE IN SAVINGS by cutting out private insurance company profits.
