My Somewhat-Snarky Personal Group Rankings of Candidates

If you take offense....well, this is DU Primaries, so....

Group A--Take me to the promised land. Any one of you guys is fine with me. Really. Pick straws if you want.

Biden
Warren
Harris
Booker

Group B--Absolutely, Definitely, Positively Yes...for a cabinet position or VP consideration

Klobuchar
Castro
Inslee

Group C--I'm really impressed. But just not quite ready yet for primetime. Come back in, say, 4-8 years.

Buttigieg
O'Rourke

Group D--Thank you for coming in today. We'll get back to you at our earliest convenience

Anyone whose name is not listed in Groups A, B, C, E, F or G.

Group E--I mean....I guess.....If we really, really have to.....Do we have to? (Sigh and silent look of resignation)

Sanders

Group F--Isn't there anything you guys could be doing with your spare time other than running for President? I mean, literally, anything?

Yang
Williamson

Group G--No. No. No. NO. Nope. Not a chance. Hell no.

Gabbard

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I understand the sentiment with regard to Beto and Buttigieg, but this should not even be joked about it should say come back in 8 years dammit because 4 would mean very bad things have happened.

God knows we couldn't afford another 4 years....there might not be a choice of 8 years after that.

So there is that too.

No shame in going one term and then passing the torch. The idea is to rescue us from this current crisis, stabilize our country and head it in a leftward direction.

If you win the whitehouse why would you surrender the huge advantage of incumbency? If the sitting Democratic president was popular enough to get a Democrat re-elected after 4 years, then there's no way the party rolls the dice on someone else.

Which is why I was against having such old candidates when all this was getting started. But here they are and we deal with it.

Warren is 70, Biden is 76, Sanders is 77. If it was Biden, he would be 81 by the end of the first term. He could be very tired or sick, he could have dementia, he could have a terminal disease. Or he could be totally fine.

(Of course, going to the Presidency directly from hosting bad reality television competition shows seems like an even taller order, but Russian interference will do wonders for you.)

I really wanted to see Beto go after Cornyn. I know he's not as easy a target as Cruz, but I still think Beto had a lot of momentum from his 2018 run that he could use. Going for the Presidency now just seems to have squandered it.

And he would benefit a lot from a chance to learn more, gain name recognition and gravitas, and let people acclimate to the idea of a gay couple in the White House someday.

1. Are you in to help America, and the world, or are in for ego. Some candidates are not fit for VP or Candidate positions.

2. Why did some candidates attack each other rather than finding consensus. Consensus on Trump and Moscow Mitch should have been the dominant themes.

Nice job.

I don’t think all these people were seriously running for President anyhow. Putting your name in the race provides you with a wealth of publicity, and also gets you vetted for a possible cabinet post. Several candidates are getting exactly what they want from this race.
