Former Vice President Joe Biden slammed other 2020 rivals for criticizing former President Obama's policies, telling reporters Thursday that it was "bizarre" that the previous administration's actions were being compared to President Trump's.
"I was a little surprised at how much incoming there was about Barack, about the president," Biden said. Im proud of having served him. Im proud of the job he did. I dont think there's anything he has to apologize for," he said. Biden also strongly defended the Obama administration's record, while criticizing those who compared their policies on issues like immigration to Trump's.
The strong defense of Obama came after some Democratic candidates appeared to criticize a number of policies under the Obama administration on Wednesday night, including on deportations and his signature health care law, the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare.
Though Obama remains broadly popular among Democrats some progressives have long argued for a new Democratic president willing to take bolder action.

I was just going to post the same thing. Obama was as bold and progressive as the House and the senate would allow. He had to use executive orders to get a lot done, as McConnell made it quite clear that he wasn't going to let Obama accomplish anything.
It is easy to be on the sidelines and talk about progressive policies, but implementing those policies is a completely different story. Most Democratic presidents would have liked to have brought about FDR style changes, but in the real world, they had to do what they could with the congress they had.
So I appreciate what our progressive politicians want to accomplish, but talk is cheap and in the end you have to also be pragmatic, if you want to leave behind anything of lasting value. I like to imagine what Obama could have done if he'd had a Democratic senate (minus some blue-dog Dems that is).
