The current politics of health care

Last edited Fri Aug 2, 2019, 10:08 PM - Edit history (1)

Being that the Democratic Party is the forward thinking party, There are times when we find ourselves one or two steps ahead of the rest of society, and sometimes it costs us. That is where we currently are on Medicare for All. If we nominate someone who is going to mandate the end of all private employee based insurance, whether in four years or ten, we will lose the election, and that poor excuse for a human being will get four more years in the oval office.

We are going to get to a universal coverage program eventually. The employee based system really makes no sense. It is an added expense to the business that makes them less profitable and less competitive to overseas competition. As the businesses continue to get that overseas competition, that puts pressure on them to cut costs, and they do that on things like health care. That's why deductibles and premiums continue to rise all the time in employee based health care. It is going to die on it's own.

Because the next Democratic President doesn't enact a Medicare for All type program doesn't mean we are not going to eventually get there.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Exactly. If our candidate is an all out Medicare-for-Aller, we'll be sitting here 15 years from now Hoyt Aug 2019 #1

debating the same thing with a Supreme Court 7 - 2 right wing, and likely a GOPer Senate and House. Good luck with that.

We should have adopted Clinton's 1994 plan.

I however completely disagree that Medicare for all will cost the Democrats the election.
