I like Julian Castro, a lot.
But this accusation is nonsense. The attacks made on Biden via Obama's record WERE attacks on Obama, and that was seen immediately by viewers at home as well as reporters and pundits.
This wasn't some spin promoted by the Biden campaign.
It was a mistake for our candidates to attack Obama's record, and they're not going to undo that damage by blaming the media and the Biden campaign.

(10,811 posts)Joe Biden did not have to 'spin' anything. As I've said elsewhere IMHO this is political malpractice during an election season, particularly with President Obama's soaring approval numbers across the Democratic electorate. And why give the Trumpster ammunition before the battle really gets underway?
Dumb and dumber!

(295,929 posts)I think attacking President Obama is bad policy and bad politics, Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut said Thursday. Of Bidens tenure as vice president, Blumenthal added: He owns it, for better or worse. But he should be proud of it.
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois also suggested the Democratic race should be marked by a more hands-off approach toward Obama.
You can disagree with him, and I have, but the bottom line is ... he did an extraordinary job, and he should be given that recognition by those that are running for the presidency.

(1,736 posts)Castro's point in the debate was provocative: what have we learned from past policy discussions as two members of the Obama candidate?
The Obama-era Secure Communities policy went too far in the number of deportations. Is anyone disputing that?
The ACA was historic, but I hope that universal coverage is still the goal. And there's a debate going on about how central is employer based insurance to both universal coverage and affordable coverage.
Obama is no longer president. Nothing wrong with advocating improvement in the policies or noting where in hindsight we might have done things differently.
