(76 posts)And some in the media are actually at least attempting to be more responsible. He is NOT afraid to call Trump out and speak the truth but he's doing it in a way that calls on others to stand up against it too. That's a winning recipe.

There are CNN executive meetings that, I'm sure go over the daily stories and deciding how best to present them so as not to even APPEAR to favor one party over the other. Or, in these times, do there very best to try to as much as possible.
Even when one party has totally morphed into a full fledged white nationalist junta. What's important to them is to cling into as many consumers they can to watch their ads.

(56,828 posts)he had on Kellyanne Conway. No idea why I kept it on, but the yelling back & forth just gave me a headache (for real) - she should NOT be given a platform to spew with her Firehose of Falsehood

(17,302 posts)because it was too confrontational. I enjoy good dialogue but not bickering or shouting. And Kellyanne should not be a guest on ANY show. She's just an unrepentant liar.

(4,164 posts)Dipshit had to be on drugs to read platitudes that someone else wrote. I agree with the DUer who wrote that he looked like someone with a gun to his head. Most of this country knows when Dipshit is talking about his own beliefs and when he is forced to say the right thing.

(7,681 posts)They always do that whether it's a shooting or natural disaster..or whatever it is. Whenever something big happens they all come in and set up camp. It's like saying we are here. Well so what you're there? What does it really mean?
I was living in Boston when the Marathon bombing happened, and the whole Copley Square area was packed with media people and TV trucks for like a week. I saw 'em all...Cuomo, Wolf, Anderson Cooper, Erin Burnett, Lawrence...and on and on. And it really made me think about that. Just what are they doing here? What do they think it accomplishes?

(22,250 posts)I also believe that if he is the VP nominee, it will impact how Texas votes. Usually that really doesn't make a whole lot of difference but I think with Beto it would, especially if he keeps this up and shows the country the Beto we saw as he campaigned across Texas
He and Mayor Pete are the most genuine of all the candidates.

(220 posts)Joe Biden. They are all honest moral men filled with integrity. I support Biden for the nomination even though he is getting up in years (same age as me) because I think he can beat Trump. And Biden is smart. His big problem is finding the right spot for all the really talented and smart people. He will listen to the youngsters and use some of their young ideas in making policy decisions. And he will mentor them making them even better candidates in future elections. Kamala Harris would make a great A/G. As strange as it sounds, I think Elisibeth Warren would be great in the judiciary (SCOTUS) I don't know what to do with Bernie except maybe make him Advisor Emeritus. Maybe Mayor Pete as Housing and Urban Development. You'll notice I didn't name anyone for DHS because I think that monolithic monster needs to broken into several agencies.
With all the talent available Biden could have one of the best administrations in a long time.

(76 posts)He has stepped up in the face of tragedy and shown he is courageous and honest. He's also able to really swing hard at Trump and actually land the punch unlike any of the others have been able to do yet. He has Trump on the defensive.

(11,592 posts)It seems like Beto was cast as the runner up in a two person contest early on. Don't get wrong, I like Mayor Pete a lot and I don't think this is coming from him. The two of them seem to get along well and I've never seen either one speak badly about the other. As for the Texas Senate race, the Democratic party already has a strong candidate running. I don't think she'd appreciate being elbowed out of the way.
I think it's a little early for any bounce to show up in the polls. I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least a small one, but even if there isn't one? So what? He's saying and doing what he needs to support his hometown. That's the important thing.
It would be great if you took the plunge and decided to support Beto. He could use more support on this site. No pressure here. It's entirely up to you.

(2,270 posts)Mr. O'Rourke has really stepped up and more of our candidates should take a lesson from him. ESPECIALLY how he puts some of the onus on the Media. Our chump-in-chief has Fox, "we" have .. less and less these days it seems. All chump's whining about the media being unfair to him has worked , in my eyes at least, because everyone seems to be bending over backwards to not invoke his displeasure. Fuck that! Call it like it is! Kudos to Mr. O'Rourke.

(2,067 posts)When Joe Biden and Donald Trump are being described with the same word, we've lost the audience.
Shoot, both Bernie Sanders and Secretary Clinton got the label from sectors of our party in the last decade or so.
A great start would be to stop calling other Democrats racist just to get a 1% poll bump. Then the word might actually regain some of its power and be meaningful as a label.

(1,702 posts)At some point we realize that some people will not change.
That point for tRUMP was a looooooong time ago.
Cuomo keeps hanging on to "we need to have this discussion".
People die and our country is dying under tRUMP. It's time to move past the "conversation" and get to the action.
Impeach, and vote these MF's out. Or we deserve what we are getting and will get a ton more of it.

(4,341 posts)With whom are we supposed to have a discussion? The right doesn't know how to discuss, the media has to have their part to give it all the strength they can to show how vile the creature is, if they continue asking what the creature needs to do, all they are doing is validating him as if he knows what to do or is willing to do it. The creature is a vile SOB who doesn't care about anything or anyone but himself, he is so compromised by Putin that he is only trying to save his skin and that of Ivanka.

I apologize for the dual post. Something has been preventing me from posting normally. And not only here. I also have trouble answering surveys, signing petitions, and naming a new recipient on Paypal. As soon as I do a keystroke of any kind, I get flipped out of the internet, instantly. Here, I had to try several times before I could click fast enough to get my post online. Also, that little autofill function for my personal information stopped showing up. This is a shared computer, so I am not sure what is happening.

(4,341 posts)Look at people in the eye when you talk to them, you are "the leader" and as such you need to look at people's faces when you are listening to what they are saying and when you talk to them, you can not look at the ground, if you do that your message looses a little bit of power, and that message was so good that it required all the power you could have given it.
Beto has been the best voice of all candidates during this crisis, and he has not put any breaks on what needs to be said. I like that.
