(42,862 posts)I'm very happy to see how busy BO has been. Sponsoring TWICE and many bills as BS... cosponsoring over FOUR TIMES as many bills as BS.
But look at how often BS votes AGAINST the Democratic party. So the boast that "BS-Votes-With-Democrats-99%" IS A MYTH... I figured as much. It' easy to see that the number is NOT 99% and closer to 81%. Why would people lie about things that can be disproved?
I have to say that I'm not at all surprised about the number of times that BS has missed a vote.
Anyway, all I'm saying here is that I'm glad to have the ACTUAL numbers for comparison purposes. I think it's good when people can make decisions based on hard facts rather than exaggerated campaign boasts and political puffery.
Everyone deserves to know the truth.

(25,183 posts)unless the numbers come out on Beto's fundraising today, and he cannot make his dollar amount raised approach what he got when he was running against Cruz. Beto is about half of what Jay Inslee is here, he may well find that the appeal of a person who could not win a Senate race is rather limited.

(81,852 posts)Beto is a threat to his entire campaign. Beto is better with young people and can raise money.
So Sanders attacks Beto. Harris, Warren, and Bernie all duke it out for the same people. Someone other than those three wins.

That really says a lot about the people telling the lies and it doesn't reflect very well on their preferred candidate either.

(297,117 posts)However, Sirota's claims simply don't add up when subjected to the most basic levels of scrutiny. During his campaign, O'Rourke pledged not to take any money from PACs, and for the most part, he stayed true to his word, eschewing big corporate donors like the ones he was accused of accepting. O'Rourke's commitment to taking small donations from his supporters made him the best-funded Senate candidate in 2018. According to independent, Texas-based journalist Leah McElrath, the numbers Sirota cites come from individual donors - not corporations.

(25,451 posts)That means he's a Republican, of course. His comment about Ted Cruz calling him a socialist and outside Texas people questioning if he's really a Democrat, that he doesn't know where he is on the spectrum and just wants to get better things for the country enrages them. Suddenly labels and detailed policies matter.
So on one side he's a socialist and on the other he's a milquetoast centrist beholden to Big Oil who, like Obama, is a charismatic empty suit. The usual.

I support Inslee #1 and Warren #2. Beto is younger that these two, but what indication do we have that he'll excel at governing?

The preparation of attacks on one Democrat by another -- and 'endorsements' of one Democrat by another, which has to be repudiated, are examples of what can be done.

Any "attack" that seems to come from a member of another candidates support group is from Putin and the GOP. Another Democratic candidate striving to win the nomination like the proverbial "bull moose in heat" (Hunter S. Thompson "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 1972" will cleverly disguise any attack so that it seems to come from someone else. At least for now. As we get closer to the convention, things will heat up, but this is the "I am so positive! Love me!" phase of the Democratic primary.
