At University of Toronto. Dr. Banting said that a discovery that could saves the lives of everyone with diabetes is just not something he could personally profit from.

I suppose Trump would have called him a pussy.

Not exactly a liberal bastion. Private insurance there was coupled with tight medical price controls (not subsidies). Drugs were typically 1/3 to 1/10th the cost of USA. And almost always insurance paid 100%.

when the people have been manipulated against their own interest to be more favorable to uncontrolled capitalism instead of government regulations or anything remotely connected to social policies that could be connected to socialism. It seems that the younger generations are more open to regulations when they are needed and social policies so there is hope.
We need the pharma industry to be profitable and we need them to invest in improved treatments or new cures but there simply should be a line when the greed gets absurd, especially when it's about life saving products.

I believe it started with the long time idea put for by the media that government is business and/or should be run like one.

At its' base all business cares about is profit however government has much greater responsibilities.
