Kamala has the largest share, in top tier, of donations from POC, particularly Black donors

Black Women Views @blackwomenviews Aug 9
Interesting thread! I'm not surprised at all that among the top tier Kamala has the largest share of her donation total from POC, particularly Black donors. She also had the largest dollars raised from POC than all other candidates. #KHive #Kamala2020

Alex Kotch @alexkotch
Of the top Dem presidential candidates, KAMALA HARRIS had the largest share of her donation total (via donors who gave more than $200) from donors of color:

Harris: 14.9%
Sanders: 9.8%
Booker: 8.7%
O'Rourke: 8.4%
Biden: 6%
Buttigieg: 4.5%
Warren: 4.3%

The analysis, which includes the 19 Democrats who qualified for both Democratic debates, uses income, race, gender, age, and political ideology information from third-party voter databases. It covers contributions made from Jan. 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019, and only includes itemized donors, the vast majority of whom gave more than $200 to a 2020 presidential campaign committee.

You're the one making assumptions... Here's an OpenSecret article on donor demographics. You figure out how they get the data. Hint: it's not simply a guess.

Use their sourcing info to solve your little riddle.

Enough time spent with you Bye.

8. Even opensecrets admits they're making "educated guesses":

....we have the added disadvantage of not knowing how all of 2014’s top 500 donors would identify their ethnic backgrounds. So we made educated guesses based on biographical material available online — and since this list needs all the diversity it can get, we counted as nonwhite anyone who could conceivably be construed as being so, in our judgment....

...matters to campaigns that folks get involved by contributing to their candidates' success. This survey tracks and measures that level of support in these very important constituencies for our party.

This early in the campaign it's good to know where to target precious resources and outreach. These sorts of surveys might not interest everyone, but it's still interesting, if not part of our advocacy or outreach, to know where this kind of support is coming from.

I think over the next few months a lot is going to change. Harris is very likable, she draws huge crowds, the people seem to enjoy her, and that will all help her get her numbers way up there. We still have a lot of time for the public to get to know her, and once the do, her chance of being president goes up.

I think we will start seeing more candidates drop out, and that could really help her pick up voters. I also think she can pick up a lot of undecided voters. There is also the group who stayed home in 2016, millions of them are out there, and after 3+ years of trumps insanity, they could be the sleeping giant that awakens.
