Rep. Tim Ryan plans to lead a gun control 'caravan' to Kentucky
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Niles-area Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan said Wednesday he’ll lead a “caravan” from his Ohio congressional district to Kentucky on Thursday as a way to seek gun control action from Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
Ryan told CNN’s Jim Sciutto that working with Moms Demand Action, he will lead a “caravan" from Youngstown to Louisville, Kentucky that will pass through Akron, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati, picking “people up along the way.”
An itinerary released by Ryan’s office said the event will kick off at 6 AM in a Niles shopping center and end with a 7:30 PM rally in Louisville.
“Enough Mitch McConnell, get off your ass, and get something done,” Ryan said angrily on a day when President Donald Trump visited victims of a mass shooting in Dayton that killed nine people and wounded more than two dozen. Ryan was not among a group of Ohio elected officials who met with Trump.
