Pastor just said “and now Senator Harris’s sister is going to sing us a song.” Maya is here, but members of Harris staff suddenly looked confused and concerned. Maya had not prepared a song.

Turned out he meant one of her AKA sisters in attendance, who is an outstanding singer. All were relieved.

“You looked real nervous for a second there,” he said, pointing at Maya..

Here she is with her Young daughter, watching as Harris speaks here.

@KamalaHarris is speaking to the congregation. She says she grew up in the church, talking about the 23rd Avenue Church of god where she worshiped in Oakland growing up.

Kamala, on the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, cites ROMANS at a Baptist church in Des Moines: “Do not be overcome by evil. But overcome evil with good.”

At Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines, a parishioner said she’s been following Kamala Harris’ campaign on “Sassy Seniors for Kamala,” run by her cousin in Kansas City. When Harris arrived, they stopped the service to do an intro from a fellow AKA soror.
