Every day it becomes more and more self-evident that the modern Conservative movement doesn’t give a fuck about the base. Not only this but current policies in Trumps America, endorsed by the Republicans in power, actively lead to significant death tolls within their own communities. Trump gets spanked in the polls against the lead democratic hopefuls for President, and this will surely impact downstream.

Cultists will never see the light, but for the rest:

They see the racism
They see the disconnect between policy and their reality
They see the misogyny
They see the power grabs
They see all of it

Trump has pushed the envelope so far that people must know that if they vote for him, they are him. Trumps brand is now so toxic that surely only the most devote adherents to Trumpism will want to be associated with it. I mean after that thumbs up photo with the 2 month old orphan – who the fuck wants to be part of that complete and utter malignant monstrosity?

For the GOP representatives in the senate and congress they should be scared. Distancing themselves from Trump at this point will not clean the tarnish and the stick of cowardly hypocrisy. They are him and in 2020 based on the optics this is not going to work out well for them…(hopefully)
