The Frank LaMere Native American Presidential Forum will be held August 19th and 20th (9am-6pm) in Sioux City, Iowa. Over the two days, each candidate will make an individual appearance and respond to questions from panels of tribal leaders and Native American youth. Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women will be the key topic and many Native American women who are tribal and community leaders will be among the panelists, including Gay Kingman, the executive director of the Great Plains Tribal Chairman’s Association. Each panel will be moderated by Indian Country Today Editor Mark Trahant. (Shoshone-Bannock).

The forum is a national conversation and will be streamed live at https://vimeo.com/fourdirectionsvote. To attend the event in person, tickets are $3/day and can be purchased online.

Funny thing, a whole bunch of Trump voters don't have a street address either, I haven't heard a word about anyone restricting THEIR rights.

She didn't really have time in the forum to get into the weeds of the issue, as it were. I'm somewhat familiar with it, however, and agree that it needs to be fixed. It's a big problem out here in the Four Corners, as well.

11. I watched Marianne Williamson and some of Elizabeth Warren

It seemed to me Williamson knew the issues that Native Americans face today and their history of genocide and cultural erasure inside and out, and how to make reparations and changes going forward whereas Warren's main message was to rebuild the structure of the way US government works with Tribes, not giving explanation of knowing the history of Native Americans.

Yet there was a stark difference in the way they treated and interacted with the two. They seemed cold and distant to Williamson, like she was from another planet, and treated Warren like she was already their leader, and cheered her on constantly. They did have Native American Congresswoman Deb Haaland introduce Warren, which was a big leg up for her.
