I got wise about 1987 and switched. See, my parents and grandparents were Rs. So I was too until I grew up and saw what they were doing.

Once you know, you never go back, and it is probably the same with Warren. Her policies are absolutely top notch, in that as an economist, I am quite sure they will work for the American people.

Warren's great.

Susan Sarandon, not so much.

I hate to see my Senator maligned in this way. She has done more in her short span in politics than many have achieved in their life time.

Fact is she doesn't just sit on her butt and talk the talk she walks the walk. She sure has gotten things done and I am not talking about naming a post office.

...……...…………………..

Elizabeth Warren’s List of Accomplishments is Bigger than Trump’s Hanging Chad

This past week, Donald Trump took to Twitter, as he does every three minutes, and attempted to throw shade at Elizabeth Warren. He tweeted:

Not only did Trump obviously confuse the Massachusetts senator for his own penis, but he also insulted Native Americans at the same time. Look at you, Donald—multitasking!

Anyone who knows who Sen. Warren is knows that “weak” and “ineffective” are the last words that can be used to describe her. With balls of steel, Warren has taken on her GOP opponents in the Senate like nobody’s business and has accomplished more in the past few years than most politicians do in a lifetime.

Let’s review just a few of these “weak and ineffective” victories:

1. In 2011, while working as an assistant for President Obama, Warren single-handedly conceived of and established the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a watchdog agency that helps protect the little guy from Wall Street’s dirty schemes. Thanks to the newly-formed agency, mortgage lenders can no longer push you into a loan you cannot afford. And these servicers now have to make a good faith effort to keep you out of foreclosure. If they don’t, they face hefty civil penalties.

It’s not just mortgage companies and big banks that now have to sleep with their eyes open. Credit card companies also now have to play by the rules. In 2012, the bureau ordered three American Express subsidiaries to pay out $85 million to over 250,000 customers they screwed over through illegal practices.

sheshe2, I hate to argue with you about a most marvelous Senator and candidate to be the "One to Lead Us OUT of the Outhouse" - but, really, she is more than what you say.

The Honorable Betty White has a far better understanding of what this outstanding candidate has to defeat IQ45:

“Why do people say "grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding.”

Then she got educated. No, Bill didn't turn her into a Democrat. Had Hillary not seen the light we wouldn't have a Hillary Clinton.

While it took Elizabeth Warren a lot longer to see the light, I'm glad she is a Democrat.

And Susan Sarandon can get with the game and vote blue no matter who. Or better dead than red.

I welcome every person over to the 'good place' and believe in redemption and the right to change our minds and our lives... "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines." (Emerson)-very true...Some ex-GOP types make the best Democrats. and I've gotta' say - there's a strange twist to both of them - Susan and Bernie.

They both seem to and claim to hate "Republican" kind of things, and yet, there's this "what can I do to screw it up" for the only people/group that can do something to stop the absurdity and start to do what the Founding Fathers wanted this country to be about.

I am not a pollster, but I cannot see any way in hell that Bernie will be the nominated opponent to run as a Democrat in the 2020 election. So, other than allowing Bernie to execute his rights to do what he wants, why is he allowing/using her to support his idealistic program?
As smart as a politician as he certainly seems to be, doesn't he see the baggage she carries into this new campaign?

It would be a shame for the Democratic Party to allow too many distractions going into such a critical election. Yes, we do have a right in a free society to campaign and seek offices, no matter what, but, it is SO obvious that we must be vigilant about what is taking place in the political arena and cautiously guard the campaign of the dutifully nominated and supported Democratic candidate, whoever that may be.

GET OUT THE VOTE - your country depends on it!

29. Here is Bernie's goal:
Tue Aug 20, 2019, 02:06 AM
Aug 2019

"This campaign was never just about electing a president of the United States, as enormously important that was. This campaign was about transforming America." Revolution.

Bernie thinks Democrats can't pass progressive legislation because they're corrupt, not that they can't get enough votes. They're all bought off, the Democratic Party is "ideologically bankrupt" and "opportunists."

"I am not a Democrat because the Democratic Party does not represent, and has not for many years, the interests of my constituency, which is primarily working families, middle-class people and low-income people." He thinks he's the only progressive and the first one to talk about universal health care, higher minimum wages, inequality, taxing the wealthy and corporations, etc. He thinks people vote for Republicans because they have economic anxiety. Thinks trade deals cause deindustrialization.

It is a shame we have to deal with this.
