He is not someone who used to be a Republican, says Susan Sarandon while introducing Bernie Sanders at an ice cream social in Iowa, talking about how hes fought for the same issues for years.
She doesnt name names, but Elizabeth Warren was formerly a registered Republican.

(31,261 posts)Warren may have been a republican, but she registered as a democrat when she saw fully what that party was about and has been a liberal stalwart.

Note to Susan --- Go FUCK yourself.

(10,156 posts)See where you're at come the primaries. Warren is stealing most of his supporters because of this...and the fact she has actual plans for how her policies would work. Finger wagging and dem bashing isn't gonna work this time.

(6,042 posts)I don't think she likes Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax proposal which call for a tax on assets of 50 million and above.
Guess she has made a killing on Trump's tax cut for the super-rich.

(9,109 posts)And we voted for the Republicans because they seemed more competent than the Democrats of that time. That was then, this is now.
Having said that, Id to point out to the Bernie fans and self-appointed keepers of the flame that its clear as crystal that whatever foreign policy competence the Republicans may once have possessed is lost (And has been lost for decades), and that the few competent Republicans that may remain have either been sidelined by the whack-jobs and yo-yos that control todays Republican Party or are very elderly and in increasingly frail health.

(9,109 posts)The sort that the ivory-tower theorists, ideologues, and nut-cases later decimated in RINO hunts. You know the hunters types: the sorts willing to burn down party and country because the rest of them werent pure enough to please them. Like the sorts of mindsets at home in the Trump mal-administration.
I learn from my mistakes. Im willing to do what I can to have a Democrat in office come the evening of Inauguration Day 2021 rather than flush the country down the toilet because the Democratic nominee didnt cross every T and dot every I like Id hope she would.

(33,470 posts)It means that she has the flexibility to change her mind when presented with evidence.
To me, this is the most important characteristic a 21st century President must have.
I wrote about my thinking on this topic here:
I support Elizabeth Warren because, according to the NYT puff piece, she used to be a Republican.
