Sure, he had some questionable hires four years ago (even some of the same ones), but back then, their qualities were not as well known ahead of time, and also, being the upstart candidate, he did not have his pick, he had to take people where he could find them. This time, he was in a strong position to get practically anyone he wanted... he should have gotten better people. We don't need angry and divisive. Even if ehiring NT was part of an effort to get/keep some high profile people of color in his campaign, he could have done better. As a public spokesperson, she does not serve him well.

Wed Aug 21, 2019, 07:43 AM

In those critical swing states, Hillary lost by LESS THAN 1%. Jill Stein received 1% of the vote in those states.

It didn't take much, and IT WAS A FACTOR in putting trump into the WH.

It is laughable referring to this as "you guys are dividing us"

Who is dividing who?

Who hired people in their campaign who not only voted for Jill Stein, but encouraged others to do likewise, and have absolutely NO REGRET doing so.

The one doing the dividing is the Sanders campaign, and they have effectively told those who supported the DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE in 2016 that they don't need them to win the primary.

We'll see how that works out for them as the primary field narrows down.

There is a reason Elizabeth Warren has momentum on her side, and Sanders has not moved beyond his ever shrinking base.

People see what a divisionary force his entire campaign is as evidenced by his hiring of Sirota, Turner, and Banks.

So tired of hearing "you've learned nothing" and threats to take their ball and go home like they did the last time. I'm sick of people like Turner and Sarandon and other current members of the Sanders campaign refusing to acknowledge that they got EXACTLY what they pushed for when they actively encouraged people to vote against Hillary. Take some responsibility and own your actions! Our country is in a moment of crisis and these fools want to continue to play games.

I voted for Sanders in the primaries in '16 and was a vocal supporter here and elsewhere but I will not support him this time precisely because of surrogates like these.

others who feel as you do understand that what we say shouldn't affect anyone's vote here because unless a person votes blue no matter who they enable Republicans. This is the problem. There will be candidates you like better than others...I adored and still do Howard Dean, but I voted for Kerry in the general. My guy lost and I voted for the Democratic nominee. Sanders has hired more than a few Stein supporters and that is disturbing as she actively undermined Hillary and helped the GOP and Russians put Trump in office...so hold the threats and consider what your life will be like if Trump gets reelected and gets another court pick. He is talking 'mental hospitals' that would be prison for those who don't agree with him...dangerous guy and nothing should stop a responsible person from voting him out by voting for the nominee...third party votes are a vote for Trump...Hell I would vote for a yellow dog if it got rid of Trump.

11. This is why Sanders will NOT get the Democratic nomination. He is effectly telling those who
Wed Aug 21, 2019, 07:31 AM
Aug 2019

supported the Democratic nominee in 2016 that he doesn't care whether he gets their support or not.

I think that mindset will prove his undoing, especially if the primaries go to a brokered convention.

Those Hillary supporters represent a large block of voters, and I suspect because of his hiring people to high positions in his campaign, along with embracing those who not only voted for Jill Stein, encouraged others to do likewise, and have no regrets doing so, this will come back to bite him bigtime.

Should this go to a brokered convention, I believe very few of those Hillary supporters would be putting their support behind Sanders, and whichever candidate is able to garnish that voting blocks support, will be the next Democratic nominee.

and in my view, that is why it is very unlikely that he will be able to secure the Democratic nomination.

They have essentially made a conscious decision to dis those who supported the Democratic nominee, over those who supported a third party candidate, and was instrumental in putting trump into the WH. That will not be forgotten.

In those critical swing states, Hillary lost by less than 1%. In each one of those states, Jill Stein received 1% of the vote.

I suspect their anger will become even more pronounced as it becomes evident that their campaign is not moving beyond its continued shrinking base.

A Liberal "man", and I question that, a man who worked in the Clinton White House and a Hillary surrogate called a woman a b***h for simply saying Liz used to be a Republican. That's pretty damn benign IMO. Liz would laugh about it. I notice that seems to be a thing with some who call themselves liberals anymore. Move the goalposts all you like.... You said "punched." I pointed out she said "shoved." I gave her credibility, you did not. That's what you're avoiding in your subsequent false accusation that I "support assault against journalists."

So your functioning excuse is basically, "It was only a little bit of assault against a journalist."

Sanders was a first term US Senator (assumed office January 3rd, 2007) and was not running for POTUS in 2008.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/15/us/politics/tanden-sanders-.html

WASHINGTON — The bad blood started early.

In 2008, Neera Tanden, then a top aide on Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign, accompanied Mrs. Clinton to what was expected to be an easy interview at the Center for American Progress, the influential group founded by top Clinton aides. But Faiz Shakir, the chief editor of the think tank’s ThinkProgress website, asked Mrs. Clinton a question about the Iraq war, an issue dogging her candidacy because she had supported it.

Ms. Tanden responded by circling back to Mr. Shakir after the interview and, according to a person in the room, punching him in the chest. “I didn’t slug him, I pushed him,” a still angry Ms. Tanden corrected in a recent interview.

Ms. Tanden now leads the Center for American Progress, Mr. Shakir runs Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign and the enmity between the two camps burst into the open last weekend. Mr. Sanders, angry about a video produced by ThinkProgress that ridicules his new status as one of the millionaires he has vilified on the campaign trail, sent a scorching letter to the center’s board, accusing Ms. Tanden of “maligning my staff and supporters and belittling progressive ideas.”

The blowup is another reflection of the ideological divisions among Democrats, this time between a legacy Clinton organization and a liberal wing trying to move the party to the left to harness the energy of millennials. Mr. Sanders’s team remains convinced that the Democratic establishment worked behind the scenes to deprive him of the party’s nomination in 2016; his campaign has cast the group as beholden to corporate interests set on thwarting him in 2020.
