Can we please stop repeating and repeating the word GAFFE ..

It's not just about GAFFE, or Joe Biden or, or..
It could be any word, or phrase about anything....
It's the mindless, repeated mouthing of words that have been used and used again and again and again...

people here are so much smarter than that..and smarter than I..

I know, I know.. "Pangaia, what word would you suggest?"
Okay, I had to look it up---

-faux pas
- " a social or diplomatic blunder" - humm. that seems a bit over the top

- "a minor blunder in speech" a bit long
- "slip' -- not bad

AH HA Found another maybe a good choice-

"SLIP-UP" -- "to make a small mistake, often as a result of not thinking carefully"
OR-- "a mistake that someone makes by not giving something enough attention"

Well, to me it's the principle of the thing.....

Any ideas for correcting this common behavior welcome---

....and it's been no big deal. Everyone knows who he is and he's been a very effective Senator and one of the best VPs we've ever had.

But, he's never been in the spotlight day in and day out so all of this seems "new" to people, even know it's not.

Folks seem to have forgotten that hardly anyone considered Biden to be presidential material before Obama made the strategic choice of selecting an older white male moderate as his running mate.

He wasn't always lovable Uncle Joe who pals around with Obama buying burgers and ice cream.

He was gaffe-prone Biden who is way too touchy-feely with women, who left the 1988 race due to a plagiarism scandal, who dropped out after a miserable showing in Iowa in 2008, and who is too close to the banking industry.

Pre-Obama Biden was thought of much, much differently. That's just a fact. Now he's looking to move into the White House at an age greater than Reagan was when the latter *left* office.

And Obama didn't want Biden to run and embarrass himself. Name recognition is huge but eventually that runs its course.

Far too many have bought into the notion that we need an old white male to defeat an old white male.

They are just comments intentionally taken out of context.

I said my work was boring once, after saying a task was hard, annoying, uninspiring, and not creative.

But I was accused of being lazy and not having "enough" work.

No, boring often means "not interesting; tedious." Look it up!

It doesn't always mean non-existent.

If you are out to intentionally take comments out of context, and twist them, then you are a lying jerk.

One reason I will never vote for Kamala or Cory in the primaries.

((I'll still vote any Dem over Trump in the General though!))

because it's perceived as just another honest mistake by him in a funny sort of way which makes him look more human, rather than stupid. So be happy that "gaffe" has been the word of choice.

Just as 'B.S.' is a slur against Sanders.

Folks will claim that 'gaffe' and 'B.S.' are just used in all innocence.

But,
in my humble opinion,
they are used intentionally as 'slurs'.

Biden's "gaffes" is Hillary's emails all over again.

If he, or any other candidate, truly says something that warrants discussion or criticism, let's have it.

But this parsing every damn word Biden says is tiresome - and only helps Republicans.

springs to mind for some reason. The thesaurus offers these, among others:

see-through
barefaced
blatant
bold
brash
brazen
apparent
arrant
clear
flagrant
glaring
manifest
obvious
palpable

Suggestions for another? Many others also spring right to mind.
