...Barack Obama is whatever you perceive him to be.

Whether Kamala Harris performs in this election like Barack did is yet to play itself out, since he was well behind Hillary at this point and Iowa is well ahead, the place where Obama broke free from conventional wisdom and relative obscurity.

So, tell me - who in this race is more like the first top tier black candidate for the presidency?

Kamala is nothing like Barack Obama. Her moment came during the first debate, and she did get somewhat of a bump in the polls out of it. Since then her numbers have steadily declined and leveled out at around 7 or 8% and seems to be holding consistently at that level. I don't think that was part of a grand scheme to lay low and pounce on the front runner at the opportune moment. That particular moment has passed. We'll see.
