Democratic Primaries

Heard a long story about Iowa wanting to move to "virtual caucus" because - surprise surprise - not many people these days are excited about shuffling on a cold winter night, perhaps even snowy or icy, to participate. Never mind exposing their preferences in front of other family members, neighbors, perhaps even bosses and co-workers.
But, of course, there are concerns about hacking. So why not move to a primary system? Because New Hampshire, which comes next, is the first state in the nation to cast a primary. So there.

(47,421 posts)I kinda remember Florida, and, perhaps Michigan, decided to move forward and were punished by cutting the number of their delegates. Of course, once we had a nominee they were forgiven.
The only way to handle this is by having a rotating regional primaries system.
Which, of course, will deprive these four early states of major income...
