Elizabeth Warren Has Reached 50,000 Selfies

Do other DUers agree with the following take on the significance of all these selfies?

Here’s the idea: Lets say Warren actually gets to the point where she looks like the likely primary winner (or even later that she actually wins the nomination). Then think about those more than 50,000 selfies all stored on 50,000 plus cell phones all across the country and easy to post on social media. ( Actually, if she gets that far it will be multiples of that 50,000.) A huge number of the people who populate those selfies (and are big fans of Warren) will want to advertise the fact that they are in a selfie with the next president of the US (they hope). What will they do with those selfies? They will post them on Facebook, Twitter and other social media - and in doing so they will include comments indicating glowingly positive views about their candidate. Then their friends will retweet all of this.

Talk about powerful grass roots support! I think it will be tremendously valuable in getting out the vote for Elizabeth.

Anybody agree?

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

In one venue she took 1,000 selfies. The report on this indicated that on average it took 6 seconds for each selfie. Thats 10 per minute; 600 per hour. Thus 1,000 selfies took 1 hour and 40 minutes. Do you really think Bernie is standing around for nearly two hours after his campaign speeches? Or Biden, or any other candidate? Very unlikely.

4. Again, they all do it. Maybe not to the extent Warren has, but they all pose for countless selfies.

And Biden's been doing it for years, including when he wasn't campaigning:

At the University of Delaware: "Joe Biden might be the king of selfies."

https://www.udel.edu/udphotos/selfies-with-biden/

Just greeting lab scientists he met in Omaha in 2017 visiting a cancer center:

https://www.omaha.com/livewellnebraska/health/grace-joe-biden-is-up-for-hugs-kisses-selfies-with/article_83f2a368-7b47-5b4a-b731-d6dfd6514d8d.html

He took the first Instagram selfie he posted with Obama:

https://mashable.com/2014/04/17/joe-biden-barack-obama-selfie/

He's posed for so many selfies that there was even a Washington Post article about how people's photos with Biden are all over Tinder, even thougn Biden himself isn't on Tinder:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/2019/03/26/why-is-joe-biden-all-over-tinder-former-vice-president-has-become-internets-favorite-wingman/

That headline calls him "the Internet's favorite wingman."

He's always stopping for selfies.

For instance, here's C-SPAN video of a Biden campaign appearance in Iowa. The video runs for an hour and 23 minutes. The last 45 minutes of it is all Biden chatting with supporters and snapping selfies.

https://www.c-span.org/video/?462259-1/joe-jill-biden-hold-july-4th-campaign-rally-marshalltown-iowa&live

It's just what they do when they campaign.

And Biden, who loves people, does it even when he isn't campaigning.

7. WaPo reporter's tweet about Biden being the last candidate to leave Clyburn's fish fry in June.

Biden was the last candidate to depart the fish fry, at 11:44, after many many ropeline selfies, hugs, calls (voters handing him their phones) and defenses of his record.

One way to knock back Qs about your age: Outlast everyone, with voters who want to meet you.

Editing to add a Bloomberg TicToc tweet with video of Biden there:

In case you didn't know, DU is a form of social media. All online interactive communities are social media. DU is more insular than FB or twitter, but it is social media.
