Voters accept Biden's "mixing stories"

From "This Week":

KLEIN: I think, from Biden's perspective, though, and Biden's supporters, they can say, look, when the vice president does it, it is to make a point in a more artful way perhaps and to connect with people in a genuine way. When Donald Trump does it, it's often to demean and belittle.

KHALID: I don't think it resonated at all. And I should preface this by saying, I was out with Joe Biden at Joe Biden events. So it's a slice of the electorate. But I specifically wanted to hear from people about this. And time after time, I was told, well, I put my foot in my mouth, we all put our foot in our mouth. There's a sense that these qualities are almost endearing to voters. There's -- there's a sense that they find him more believable because he makes missteps every so often.

JORDAN: And what I'm hearing is that people just say, come on, let's focus on the big stuff.

(snip)

DOWD: But I will say one other thing. Guns is -- guns, I think, is what happened in Midland and Odessa in Texas, where, as we all know, I'm from, after what happened a month ago from El Paso, guns, to me, is going to be a huge, decisive factor in this election, up and down the ballot, because I think, when you have a democracy where 90 percent of the citizens say, do something, and nothing gets done, there's going to be incredible frustration when that happens.

that much.

My difference with him is on policy - he is too centrist for me. However, I WILL be supporting him should he become our nominee.

And...a friend will also be treating me to a nice lunch on a bet - I said either Biden or Buttigieg will end up on the ticket, and so if either ends up on the ticket in either P or VP slots, then I win.

I don't know what my friend was thinking.

But I'm working really hard for a Warren/Buttigieg ticket. I'd still win, and my candidate will, too. When the Mooch appeared on Maher and said if we nominate Warren, we 'lose to Trump in 40 states,' he was full of shit. That is a Republican talking point because the big guys on the right hate her policies. So, yeah, there will be stiff opposition if she's the nominee, but if enough of us get out and vote, she will win.

This election is going to be the ultimate referendum on Trump, because by the time it hits we'll be in recession, American families will have been squeezed by the tariffs during this holiday season, farmers and factory workers will have lost their tee shirts as well as their shirts, and nearly every sane American will make the effort to get to the polls.

Remember, the dirt bags cheat. They do, because they are traitors. But if enough of us vote blue, it will bury them.

4. Biden's "gaffes" are really plusses.

Seeming human and endearing are true strengths in an election. joe Biden may actually benefit from all the attention on his so-called gaffes because he is a warm empathetic human being.

There is an example of another affable candidate from 40 years ago: Ronald Reagan. Reagan was so successful and popular in part because he made gaffes and misspoke constantly, which made him appear human, unthreatening and when elected allowed him to carry out some of his extreme agenda that another younger, more strident politician could have never accomplished.

Biden is warmer, kinder more affable, and somewhat older than Reagan was. The difference is that Biden has an agenda that will truly help America, perhaps even finally end the conservative era that Reagan initiated.

tRump has a golf cart.

Getting elected President means that Joe can't drive during his term.

I don't think tRump can fit in a Corvette.

I like Joe's style!

6. There is no way in hell Trump could shimmy into a Vette

My sister had an old, classic Corvette. They are low to the ground (Trump can barely walk, let alone bend and twist) and tight inside. This was a car she loved but sadly, it spent more time in the shop than on the road. She finally let it go.

Visualizing Trump trying to get into the car makes me laugh. He's golf cart material, forever.

11. These alleged gaffes are eye-rolling examples of the absurdity of the press or the woke left
Wed Sep 11, 2019, 08:29 PM
Sep 2019

To many Biden supporters, who polls consistently show are older, more working class, and more culturally conservative, these alleged gaffes are eye-rolling examples of the absurdity of the press or the woke left. They think the young activist in eastern Iowa should toughen up, that the throwaway line to the 13-year-old is endearing, and that Biden’s lack of precision when he speaks, about scooters or so many other things, is a sign of his authenticity. And they grouse that Biden is held to a standard President Donald Trump is not.

How Democrats see such episodes is at the heart of the Democratic primary. One side views these sorts of typical Biden campaign-trail moments as evidence of a politician well past his prime — casually sexist in a way that might have gone unremarked in, say, 1973 when he first joined the Senate. His supporters see them as good examples of why he’s the lovable Democrat best-suited to beat Trump. What is clear is that the critics, who are louder and more visible online and on cable TV, have had absolutely no impact on changing Biden’s status as the steady front-runner in the race.

This woke-working class divide is at the heart of the most salient fact about the Democratic primaries: Nothing has damaged Biden. Biden entered the race with about 30 percent support nationally and he has that same 30 percent today.
