Yeah. Running two dozen candidates is such a good idea.

I just read through the threads on the Primaries Forum. I'm watching people move from "anyone but trump" to anyone but the one who trashed my favorite. Biden people hating on Warren. Warren people hating on Biden. A bunch of those who could take the Senate using up resources and debate stage chasing a pipe dream. Democrats getting pissed at Democrats.

Sure, I know everyone says how they will support the candidate no matter what. That's what people said last time too, and then lost enthusiasm because, by god, Hillary trashed Bernie or something. I worked with a lot of Bernie people that sort of disappeared the closer we got to the election. They did go and vote for Hillary, but only after they had stopped canvassing and working the phones and had trashed Hillary at the office or bar in front of idiots who couldn't decide who to vote for.

We need to stop this train wreck of a primary and start running agains the idiot in the WH.

My two cents.

primary today, I would vote for:

"hating on Warren".. I don't... none of my "friends" do.

There are actually a few who post consistantly negative OPs about Biden.. don't see that for EW.

Anybody who doesn't vote Blue this time.. doesn't give a shite about anything or anybody but themselves.

see any constant anti-Warren OPs.. and I think you'll agree that there are constant anti-Biden OPs.

I should know I've trashed enough of them.

I have friends who are Warren supporters and allies of Biden. They stand up for Biden when he's being unfairly bashed.. and I would do the same for them.

Your post proves my point completely.

You call bashing what others call criticism. They call bashing what you call criticism.

I'm not the one posting that only one candidate's supporters are completely fair, while all of the others have these awful bashers.

Biden is fine with me. I think Elizabeth has the better qualifications and direction and is more electable. What qualms I have about candidates, I keep to myself. (Except I have been known to disparage BS's commitment to support the eventual candidate. And I think that opinion is based on facts and reason. So, I'm guilty too. Hence my OP that we are hurting ourselves with this primary process.)

Trump's #1 go-to schtick is to get his followers doing Orwell's "2 minutes hate".

Having this many candidates in the field deprives him of that weapon (for the moment), because he can't focus it on any one person (yet).

Intentional or not, it's not actually a bad counter-strategy. And it has the additional benefit of exposing him as a weak candidate (candidates don't line up around the block to take on an opponent they think they'll lose to).

Democratic candidate -- and sometimes several candidates -- all beating him.

We haven't yet had a poll about whether a glass of water with a D on it would beat Trump.

OTOH, considering how many quirky polls Public Policy Polling has done over the years, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually polled on it.

You know what's even worse than that? What really pisses me off is when anyone LIES and smears and denigrates the Democratic party.

Oh, I'm sure you've heard all the smears before... the ugly lies...

It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "ideologically bankrupt". It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "feeble". It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "corrupt". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is an "absolute failure". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is "the party of the one-percent". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party is the "party of the elite". It's NOT TRUE that there's "no difference between Democrats and Republicans." It's NOT TRUE that Democrats are "do-nothings". It's NOT TRUE that the Democratic party "doesn't care about climate change." It's NOT TRUE that the Democrats "focus too much" on diversity. It's also NOT TRUE that people who the refuse to vote for an African-American because of his skin color "aren't racists". It's also NOT TRUE that the Democrats who "are very big into diversity" aren't "particularly sympathetic" to the working class.

We can't win national elections whenever someone keeps repeating lies about the Democratic party... lies that discourage participation, volunteerism, support of our party's candidates, donating, canvassing, VOTING FOR DEMOCRATS!!!

Here's the bottom line when it comes to things like this: Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

I do not go after other candidates even though that is fair game in a primary...I say mine can win certian states we need that is all...and I will vote for anyone who wins the nomination...anything to rid us of Trump. The women Senators (Harris, Warren, and Klobuchar) are described as being very "collegial" toward one another, which I find heartwarming. I think they plan on being still able to work together in the future.

Warren, when recently nudged by a reporter who said this next debate would be her big chance "to go head to head with Joe Biden" and what did she think of that, said she was not there to fight him but to stand up and explain to voters what her own plans are.

Beto is going all out on gun violence. I don't see him fighting his fellow Democrats, really, though I might have missed something. I do see him fighting this national bloodbath we are in.

Inslee, after fighting hard for climate, dropped out and said that "All my ideas are open-source. Please use them."

Bernie is doing what he has done his whole career: find fault with Democrats for not living up to his expectations. Tulsi is somebody's little mole -- keep an eye on her.

Joe Biden, out of all of them, is waging a General Election campaign. He is running against Trump right the heck now.

Think about it.
