BS has not been vetted and asked about his essays or his "I am a socialist" tape by any major media and the public doesn't know about them.

(1,017 posts)The general election will be a million times worse than that, and it won't be just Trump, it'll be the whole Republican Party, media, business community, etc..... attacking.
Biden will get it too, but what Biden has that Warren and others don't is more moderate policies and a track record with the Obama Admin. With Warren and everybody else it'll be fear of the unknown for voters at how much of a disaster they might be.

(191 posts)She's skated through the debates. Biden gets negative stories every week and yet he's killing Trump in the polls. That says a lot that people like him, no matter what.

(4,558 posts)Was reading this response, and the other responses below it. So, for all 3, I bingd Donald Trump Mocks <candidate> for each Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders.
Many hits of Cheetolini attacking Biden. Most recent full news story was a Breitbart article called Donald Trump mocks Joe Bidens Gaffes hes such a disaster. I wont link it here due to the right wing source, but theres Biden definitely gets negative attention from the disaster in chief.
Likewise, many hits of Cheetolini attacking Warren. Most recent full news story was a Daily Wire (again, right wing so sorry, but no linking) article titled Trump Mocks Warren: I Have More Indian Blood Than She Does And I Have None, and she definitely gets negative attention from the disaster in chief.
But Bernie? Hard to find much right wing criticism of him at all. So by official legal indictments have findings that Russia supports him, Trump goes very easy on him, and right wing media goes very easy on him. Doesnt inspire my confidence to say the least.

(804 posts)as polls in the electoral "must win" states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Hillary was ahead in the national polls in 2016, but the Orange Buffoon managed to to squeak ahead in these states for the electoral win and the Presidency. We must not lose sight of that. While it might be nice to win in Arizona, Florida, NC or Texas, the test will be in those rust belt states that have previously voted Democratic. Joe Biden is the strongest candidate to win in those states IMO. For me, the only thing that counts in 2020 is winning.

(4,490 posts)At least at this point in time. Just much much less data available. I've seen a Quinnipiac poll from July, and a PPP poll from November 2018. That's all I found on specific "what if" scenarios.

(804 posts)I'm not sure how to post a link however a recent Marquette poll on September 04 (Link Real Clear Politics) had Biden 28 (+8) over his nearest challenger, Sanders at 20. In Michigan, the Epic MRA poll August 28 showed Biden +10 over Trump while the nearest Competitor was Warren at +6. These polls are of Democratic voters in these states. (See Real Clear Politics recent polls) That's why I think Biden will do better in these states.

(4,490 posts)I was looking only for Ohio specific polls for some reason rather than other states. Got a couple wires crossed lol.
Oh, and small correction, August Epic/MRA has Biden +10, not +8. You undersold your own candidate!

(3,156 posts)If our candidate wins by double digits in 2020 then it will be an electoral college blowout. We're talking every Obama 2008 state besides IN while likely winning TX and GA.

(42,862 posts)This is especially true when we have people using the nomination process to smear and denigrate the Democratic party. That kind of negativity generates apathy. Apathy results in low voter turnout. Low voter turnout means that it's easier for the GOP and Russia to steal elections.
