Raise your hand if you're scared of Elizabeth Warren becoming president...

Watched Bill Maher this morning on Scarborough and he said he was scared of her presidency. Now, I'm a Biden supporter, but the notion that somehow anyone should be frightened of a Warren presidency is laughable, especially with the insanity that is currently in the WH.

That's only a small portion of what Maher said that pissed me off. He comes across with RW talking points and it makes me want to punch him in the face really hard.

This is why I do not watch Maher's HBO show any longer.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Then they may need to rethink their political allegiances...

If the difference in 2020 is again turn-out (which it is almost 100% certain to be as the electoral college map is already about 70% certain TODAY); and we have voters who sit it out because their chosen or preferred shiny penny was not on the ballot, then the death of the republic and loss of anything resembling democratic self-rule is on their heads, and down to the 9th generation thereafter as well.

If the choice is a ham-fucking-sandwich with rancid cheese or Trump, hold your nose and chow the fuck down, period.

A spirited and inclusive debate of the best candidate is in order, and welcome...tonight is going to be a treat to me...but when its over, it OVER...and we close ranks behind the winner, period.

The Democratic Party nominee has my vote in 2020, period.
No conditions.
No hesitation.
No pouting or taking my ball home.
No questions.

For anyone else calling themself "Democrat" and not equally committed to the 2020 nominee, darken my doorstep no more and call me enemy, not friend, for we share no common cause if you attempt to subvert or demean the party standard bearer.

When you adopt the Republican "Too far left" narrative, you are cutting your own throat because any Democratic candidate is "Too far left" for the Republicans. It is best to reframe this issue because you will lose if you keep jumping through Republican framing.

You don't see Republicans saying their candidates' are "Too far to the right". Being too moderate (i.e. RINO) is a bad thing to the Republican party.

What he said was that Boris Johnson is a kind of Trump figure and not popular but what they have on the left is Corbin, someone who is scary to middle of the road voters, and he doesn't want that to happen here. Democrats are having a race to the far left. When you run on taking away people's health care, taking their guns, giving trans women abortion rights, you seem crazier or scarier than Trump to the middle of the road voters, rank and file Democrats who are the majority (Twitter isn't real life). He loves Warren but she scares him a little bit because all Democrats have to do to win this election is not be scarier than Donald Trump. And if a person isn't inspired to vote against Trump, you're not following politics at all.

He didn't say he was scared of Warren becoming president, he said if she goes to far left she will scare rank and file Democrats. "I love Elizabeth Warren, but she does scare me a little bit because all we have to do to win this election is to not be scarier to people than Donald Trump."

.... understood exactly what he was saying. He did not say he was afraid of a Warren presidency. It was obvious to me that he was talking about her far-left policies as an obstacle to her being able to beat Trump as opposed to a more moderate candidate. I agree with this statement, but if she were to become the nominee, and actually became president, I would be perfectly happy with that. I would not be afraid of a Warren White House. Nowhere in the interview did Bill Maher ever state that he was afraid of a Warren presidency.

I strongly suggest going to MSNBC and listening to the interview for the first time, or a second time carefully. This is what he actually said.

DO I NEED TO PUT THIS IN ALL CAPS? I shouldn't have to.
snip:
Near the end of the interview, Maher summed up his fears about the Democratic Party this way: “I love Elizabeth Warren, but she does scare me a little bit because, again, all we have to do to win this election is not be scarier to people than Donald Trump.”

I'm a Bill Maher fan, but I am a fan with the understanding that he may not be everyone's cup of tea. That's fine. I'm willing to discuss, and sometimes defend his point of view, but if anyone thinks they can purposely misconstrue, or even lie about something he says, I will come down on them hard so the next time they might think twice about what they are about to say. I'm not limited to just Bill Maher as several people here probably remember, but would be reluctant to own up.

43. Warren and Harris are tied for second place in my book. Scared? Nope... rather energized, actually.

The Democrats have a strong field. All the candidates are more than acceptable to me, and I'll be damned happy to pull the lever for any one of them.

Maher is, well... an entertainer. He's effective at entertaining his fans, but I don't give his political analyses any more weight than I'd give to Eddie Murphy's dating advice in his film, Raw.

She had been a guest on his show many times, and he seemed to be crazy about her. He's been acting rather weird lately.

I prefer Bernie because he wants to change the system while Elizabeth wants to reform it .. But she would make a fine President …

It’s expression takes many forms, such as Maher’s comments. It would be a mistake to believe that “liberals,” such as Maher, truly believe in women’s equality. Many don’t.

would be scary about her. Some GOPers don't like her economic policies but she can't raise taxes or implement MFA on her own and Congress isn't likely to do it anyhow.

When he and the idiot Mika bashed HRC for a year, then were aghast that Trump won the election but claimed they had nothing to do with it.

I heard him on Friday and had to turn him off or I would have ended up throwing my iphone (listen on sirius).
