'Long coattails' -- critical in 2020

Other than of course beating Trump, the most important attribute of any candidate will be the ability to inspire and generate enough enthusiasm to bring back a Democratic majority in the Senate. Otherwise, very little else will matter because McConnell will continue to block everything.

If I were to vote in a presidential

would love to get the Senate majority back next year as well. Send Moscow Mitch into retirement. If not retirement, then at least relegate him to minority leader.

People just how good those years were may still have a coat tail effect on down ballot races.
