Sanders: Congress will not give you authority to start a war because Saudi dictatorship told you to

Bernie Sanders
@SenSanders

Mr. Trump, the Constitution of the United States is perfectly clear. Only Congress—not the president—can declare war. And Congress will not give you the authority to start another disastrous war in the Middle East just because the brutal Saudi dictatorship told you to.

In fact most of the perpetrators were Saudi nationals. We get most of our oil from the U.S., Canada, and South America. It's time to tell the Saudis to go f themselves.

He says he’s against foreign wars but wants to start one over drone attacks on oil. He acts like the US military is the Saudis’ private army. And how would a war, or anything for that matter besides defense against drones, war prevent drone attacks? Thank you Bernie for reminding the nation of what a hypocrite Trump is.

over him going to war than he pays attention to anything else that Congress does or does not do?

Bernie is dreaming if he thinks that Congress can stop Trump from going to war. The House can pass something saying No War, and Moscow Mitch won't let it come to a vote in the Senate and Trump will go merrily on his way. Look how well saying he couldn't take money from appropriations for housing repairs and new schools for the military and using it to build his wall worked out.

Others are listening too. We all need to know when exactly to fit him for the straight jacket and escort him to the hospital with the padded walls.

Have a little faith. I feel confident that the Joint Chiefs of Staff can be very persuasive if necessary. They can carry side arms, and remind anyone stupid enough to argue the other way, that they all took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the USA.

Perhaps the correct time would be just after he orders a nuclear strike. How difficult could it be to prove that he is " mentally impaired enough to be a danger to himself and others". Clearly unfit for duty.

and they certainly don't return the favor.

Now our blood and treasure is supposed to defend Saudi oil production????

I thought trump's goal was US energy independence though domestic fracking and natural gas.
