and tired of the Bernie OPs.

Maybe it is a holdover from 2016

How can I block them?

Some of them got really ugly towards anyone who disagreed with them. I used the block feature a lot in 2015-2016, I hate doing that but it was for my mental health.

That said, if by some chance he is our nominee I will work hard to get him elected.

....they are in damage-control mode over Beto's numbers.

Add to that all the Russian bots that are amplifying them, and it is becoming a deafening chorus today.

As I said in another thread, "Message auto-removed" sure is an ardent Bernie supporter.

5. Use trash keyword Bernie Sanders or you can post a lot about your candidate and maybe others

will follow suit. If you look at a lot of the OPs about Bernie it's a lot of OPs about Bernie by people who don't support Bernie. There are only 5 OPs about Bernie on the first page posted by Bernie supporters. There are 9 about Beto.

6. A very small number of his backers (largely outside DU) have really hurt him

I remember hearing Bernie many years ago on Thom Hartmann's "Brunch With Bernie" regular radio interviews and found him refreshing then. I do credit him with bringing attention (along with Warren and some others) to a lot of issues and policies that a decade ago were barely discussed.

He surely has devoted followers--only a minority of which pose a problem. I suspect other candidates will likewise attract some zealot-like but over-the-top or even abusive supporters. I hope the most vocal and high profile of them will be called out by the candidates.

That said, DU has keyword trashing: go to account, trash can, and enter keywords to hide/trash.

7. Sure. Block keywords Bernie, Sanders, and/or BS. If needed, actually block the poster.

I intentionally stayed away from 2016 primary season because I knew Hillary was certain to win, but Sanders supporters equally certain to make it ugly and uncomfortable.

This time it is more interesting with greater number of candidates and therefore more variables. I'm not sure exactly how Sanders will fare. I don't think anybody can be definitive about that. Sanders has huge potential to be the dominant figure in the debates. If that plays out then the demographics partially shift toward him, no matter what happened in 2016 or what it looked like now.

I noticed that posters asserting Sanders has no chance have been more quiet lately, as polling like Wisconsin shows up.

I wish Sanders had pushed exactly the same themes throughout his career but never attached the word socialist to them. That version would be formidable.
