Biden in SC: Democratic rivals are "all competitive" & each would be a better president than Trump

https://www.mcclatchydc.com/latest-news/article235125272.html

If voted the Democratic presidential nominee, Biden said he aims to amplify the conversation over policy ideas, particularly on the debate stage where Trump found immense success during his 2016 presidential run against then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I’ve had presidential debates before and I’ve ... not done badly at them,” Biden said with a wide smile, an obvious self-inflicted jab over his most recent appearance on the debate stage in Texas where some of his opponents took turns criticizing his gaffes.

“It’s not about being aggressive as much as it (is about) being straightforward and not (letting) the president misrepresent the facts, call him out on the facts,” he said. “What you don’t want to do, and what I don’t want to do is get down in the mosh pit with this man.”

That is where Trump is most comfortable, Biden said.

“I’m going to make sure that if I’m the nominee that I stay who I am and remain authentic, and I tell people exactly what I think,” he said.

Is it enough to excite voters, particularly those undecided or who sided with potentially a different Democratic hopeful?

“So far they seem pretty excited if you look at the polling data,” he said.

Asked which Democratic hopeful is his strongest competitor, he declined to say.

“I think they are all competitive,” he said. “I really mean that. Every one of them is capable of being a better president than President Trump is.”

I admire the way Biden is always gracious to his rivals for the nomination. Much more gracious to him than some of them have been to him.

and overall nice guy.

I liked how he sat for all the presentations at the Wing Ding in Iowa. He also applauded Warren’s closing remarks at the debate last week. He is decent and good.

All of the rest in the Dem Race would follow this lead. Don't make the others the 'bad person' make the idiot in chief in White House the bad guy. He's the one who ever gets the Dem nod will be focusing on, once the GOP/DEM race begins. Start pointing out each and everything he's done to our Nation NOW! That way those points are in the news.

“I think they are all competitive,” he said. “I really mean that. Every one of them is capable of being a better president than President Trump is.”

Now if only all this supporters here could admit the same thing!

No matter who wins I support the nominee, as will every voter in my house.

have a long way to go.

I've never said that Biden is the only candidate who could beat Trump.

But I have said, because the polls suggest this, that he's apparently the canddate who'd do best against Trump.

And while some polls show at least a few Dems beating Trump, others show only one or two, or only one, and occasionally even show all the Dems losing to Trump, or at best tied with Trump.

But in almost all cases, Biden's still shown as doing better against Trump than the other candidates.

That's the electability argument.

of saying it, but you have to admit there are those who say they support Biden that "do" day this almost everyday.

I will agree with you "right now" the polls shoe him on top, but we all know how polls can change. I don't buy into polls very much. There are a lot of factors that can sway the totals one way or another. I see polls that show the top 5 can all beat trump, and there are others that say different.

I will wait till first of next year to take any polls seriously. My view is that once we have a nominee, whoever that person is will pick up the support of the majority of voters, and that person will have high numbers in whether they can beat trump.
