Not much oxygen in the media today for second tier candidates.....

It seems msnbc at least is having a bout of beto-mania. He is apparently making 3 stops in michigan, and one was deep in the heart of detroit. I checked cnn briefly and they also had headlines on beto.

They are also talking about biden, and a few mentions of klobuchar. Bernie who? lol.

But if I were any other candidate, I'd be asking myself what I have to do to get a mention in sideways.

I'm still way undecided, and this is just noise to me, but really, the narratives are already stacking up. It will be a biden/beto battle and everyone else will be sucking air trying to keep up.

Not really what I hoped for, but the media is fickle. They will change horses if only to keep it a race you have to keep up with the news on.....

Still must feel pretty good to be biden or beto today though.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. There are so many candidates, you either will have to have big news or make a major misstep

Beto - $6.1 million first day --- big news
Biden - Nearly outs himself as a candidate - a big blooper, or maybe it's not, it is the currently worst kept secret around

There are only so many minutes in a news cycle

Not that his running for POTUS is ever going to amount to anything.

5. Beto and Kamala are shifting between 3 and 4 on Predictit

If anyone cares about that, or likes to follow the dollarly perspective.

Beto surged above Kamala on announcement, jumping to 18 cents as she fell to 14. Then when Beto had the old stuff surface and his fundraising seemed in doubt, the numbers reversed and late last night Kamala was trading at 18 cents with Beto at 14.

As soon as I saw that $6.1 million today I knew it would equate to a Beto rise in the prediction markets. But how much?

Beto is now back up to 18 cents while Kamala drops to 16.

Biden and Sanders are each at 23

6. How does the second tier candidates get oxygen?

Get on the debate stage with the others and display enormous grasp of policy. I have seen Buttigieg go through policy explanations twice, I think that he has what it takes to upend the field after the first debate.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
