'I am propelled by a sense of urgency': Pete Buttigieg brings his campaign to Louisville
In front of a sold out house at Play Louisville on Tuesday, Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg also known as "Mayor Pete" called the country to what he called a higher level of patriotism and equality.
"I am propelled by a sense of urgency that makes me think that even now, we might be under-reacting to the state of the upcoming election" Buttigieg said to the hundreds of people crammed into the Butchertown nightclub known for its drag performances.
Buttigieg's stop in Louisville is part of a campaign tour in which the South Bend, Indiana, mayor unveiled a disaster relief plan that will be "tasked with streamlining data collection, in part to lessen burdens on those affected by disasters," according to the Associated Press.
It wasn't Buttigieg's first time in the Ville. The Hoosier State native was the keynote speaker at the 2018 Leadership Louisville conference at the Louisville Omni Hotel last August alongside Mayor Greg Fischer and other notable names.
