Electoral College: Where does your candidate stand?
I read these tweets minutes apart from each other.

The problem with deciding Presidential elections via popular vote is that candidates would naturally campaign in urban areas with big media markets and their policies would follow suit. Better to have proportional electoral college votes in each state so you campaign everywhere.

Time to do away with the power of the anti-democracy -and polarizing -Electoral College. States should cast their votes for the national popular vote winner, not who won the state. Person who gets the most votes from the American people should be President. 7:26 PM - 16 Mar 2019
I wished Holder had joined the race, but understand he can do a lot more by fighting gerrymandering laws across the country. Yang position is disappointing, but it's just one more reason I wouldn't vote for him in the primaries.
So now I wonder what the other candidates said about keeping, changing or ending the Electoral College?

(94,358 posts)1. Yang's comment on the EC is pointless...
The EC gives some extra clout to small States, but it's still largely proportional (CA vs SD). A wholly proportional EC would not likely change the model of where Democrats and Republicans choose to campaign.

That's why I'm behind Joe Biden. He will win the only race that matters.
