Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumInteresting, I have 11 Facebook friends who like Biden and 53 who like Warren
Here are some other numbers:
57 who like Bernie Sanders
20 who like Beto (I have a lot of family in Texas)
9 who like Kamala Harris
5 who like Pete Buttigieg
12 who like Cory Booker
16 friends who like Trump (I may be clearing most of them out now that I know this. This number is somewhat low because I have unfriended all the blatant Trump supporters. Those that remain must be low key about it.)
32 who like Hillary Clinton
74 who like Obama
Note that I have a lot of friends who are artists, writers and teachers who tend to be very liberal.

(2,061 posts)One left wing buddy loads up on sharing news stories. He only posted about Sanders in 16. He posts positive about all Democrats this time. My Trump humping friends have gone silent.
My friends list is less than half of the numbers you are showing. Mine is mainly family and high school buddies.

I know Republicans who realize there actually ARE Democrats out there, even outside of large cities and coastal states.
But they find it almost impossible to believe any Democrat could defeat Trump because they know so few people who'd vote against him (even if they dislike him personally, the tweeting, etc.).
They just can't believe polls showing Democrats can beat Trump. It simply doesn't fit with their own experience of the world.
People often tend to self-segregate. There's good reason for marketing, including political marketing, to focus on such factors as zip codes:

Facebook does an online version of this, with people selecting friends.
And most online forums do the same thing.
If you looked at old DU polls and misjudged them as being representative of the Democratic Party as a whole, you'd have been really shocked by who finally won the nomination.
