I contributed to Hillary in 2008, but as soon as she conceded, I contributed the max to then Senator Obama before the convention, this allowed me to contribute the max again during his fall campaign.

President Obama ran pretty much unopposed (a gadfly or two ran against him) in 2012. I contributed the max during the primary period and then contributed the max during the fall campaign. I was middleclass both times. So it is possible for reasonably well paid middleclass people to buy Bernie's $2800 ticket and not be some country club snob.

of those Democrats who donate $200 or more to more than one primary candidate to get them kicked off (thus being identified to the FEC and useful for study). Turns out, those typically sophisticated and affluent (but not wealthy) donors very strikingly excluded Sanders from their lists of those to donate to.

Very explainable when pointed out. He is a type of his own, and those people know he's not an alternative to the others. Also, sophisticated donors wouldn't have misunderstood or forgiven his "donations" to 2016.

However, there's apparently no special consideration for high dollar donors (usually, there'd be a "VIP reception" or photoline for the top dollar people).
