Gillibrand pushes back on criticism that she was too quick to demand resignation of Sen. Al Franken

Gillibrand also pushed back on criticism that she was too quick to demand the resignation of Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) in 2017, after eight women accused him of sexual harassment. Gillibrand was the first Democratic senator to call on Franken to resign, and she was soon joined by two dozen other senators from the party.

“Senator Franken was entitled to whatever type of review or process he wanted,” Gillibrand said. “He could’ve stuck it out, stayed in the Senate, gone through [the] Ethics Committee’s investigation. Those were his choices, but I had to make my choice.”

I think she's someone whose principles swing depending on the electorate she's trying to woo...but she's exactly right here...he could have stuck it out and gone through an investigation.

If an investigation discovered more unflattering information with actual strong evidence supporting it, you would have been completely justified in telling him to resign. Demanding he do so before all the facts were out made you look extremely unprofessional and too quick in making rash decisions.

I don't see me supporting her in any situation. If she is the nominee she will get my vote, but nothing more than that.

Her numbers are terrible. She's barely eking out 1% in all the polls I've seen and she already has quite a bit of name recognition so there's not really any new people left to attract.

At this rate, she won't even qualify for the debates.
