Scarborough compares Buttigieg to Obama

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday compared likely 2020 Democratic candidate Pete Buttigieg to former President Barack Obama.

Scarborough tweeted that he and his co-host and wife, Mika Brzezinski, have been “overwhelmed” by the response from viewers to Buttigieg’s appearance on “Morning Joe.”

“Mika and I have been overwhelmed by the reaction [Pete Buttigieg] got after being on the show,” Scarborough tweeted. “The only other time in twelve years that we heard from as many people about a guest was after [Barack Obama] appeared on Morning Joe.”

Buttigieg, a Navy veteran and the only openly gay candidate currently running for president, has been lauded as the “first millennial president.” He is also the only serving mayor running for president.

In his Wednesday morning appearance on MSNBC, Buttigieg pushed the importance of “generational change” in politics.

It's almost as if he BELIEVES what he says (unlike the cretin currently occupying the White House).

He makes me think of Bill Clinton more than he does Obama. But the comparison to either is wonderful!

I've got a feeling the other networks are going to fall all over themselves trying to book him from now on.

I felt Beto had Obama in him but Pete is even smoother and more clever than Beto. Love it. Media seems to love him too.

...so impressive about Obama in the early days of his first campaign. I know that "smart" doesn't always win, but can you imagine the great contrast he would make on stage with Trump? The Donald would find some excuse not to debate. Bone spurs, probably.

Everything he says should be understood to be intended to keep power for the right and defeat Democrats. As he did for the 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016 elections.

His comparing MAYOR Buttigieg to President Obama is not an indication of approval. It suggests he thinks Buttigieg would be a weak candidate who could be used by the right to advantage.

I like Buttigieg a lot, but he's openly gay. And considering that legalization of gay marriage set the nation in virtual flames and that the "culture wars" were a huge factor in the election of a mentally disordered president (ANYONE but a Democrat!), that alone is reason for Scarborough to "support" him.

Btw, the name "bu'dajudge" is apparently Maltese in origin, Turkish earlier, and translates to something on the order of master or owner of chickens, "lord of the poultry" is how one site posted it.
