We of course play in an orchestra pit, Depending on where I set up, I can sometimes see the stage, sometimes not. It a question every year.. do I want to watch some of it, or be near the door so I can sneak out..usually I bring a book... LOL

Plus playing the same thing 10-12 times in a row, (plus the 2 orch rehearsals and 1 reh with cast)---year after year, .. well, you get the picture.,..

However, it DOES pay well !!

(Of course, in bigger cities it could be 20-30 times a season !!)

But, it IS Tchaikovsky, who was a brilliant composer...
