A POTUS candidate hired this person who, by virtue of being their political operative while continuing to write, without disclosing that, was violating journalistic ethics.

A POTUS candidate was the person initiating and perpetuating the arrangement. Imagine if Hillary had done that in 2016.

The journalist not only failed to disclose that he was a political operative, he balfaced denied that he was working for the candidate, accusing people who pointed that that he was a political operative of being "a filthy liar" and "mentally incapacitated".

His hiring as a speechwriter also appears to be an acknowledgment that Sanders, whose extemporaneous public remarks have been a sign of his authenticity, will at times be scripted like other politicians." - from the WAPO article.

I agree in a way that just the act of deleting 20,000 of them is quite enough information in itself.
